Ricardo
"Jefe, how long we going to Italy for?" Juan's question disturbed my thoughts as I looked out of the window.
"One night."
It was all it would take, one night to find the woman I needed to help me finish my quest.
Juan buckled up and put his head back. "Okay." Then he closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep. He deserved it. It was going to be a long ride, and I should be catching some z's too, but I was too wound up. In an ideal world, I would have had Adrianna sent to the house, had her prepped and the next day, been with her, but Pa's death was a mystery I had to get some outside help with.
I couldn't get it in Chicago, certainly not in Mexico because as much as I loved my people, but they had big mouths. Someone, somewhere would blab. I had never felt like this before, unsure, unclear of the future and it was making me fucking nervous. I hadn't thought I could feel this way about anything until now.
"Would you like a drink, Señor Ruiz, from the bar?"
