"Mind if I come with you?"

"EH!?" Chiharu looked at his Spirit counter-part

"What? You find that surprising?"

"Frankly, yes..." Chiko said

Hayashi shows his system interface, going through his treasures, the purple and blue table, and smiling before reading its description.

"Fusion Table: This table from the other world can fuse anything put on it so long as the materials are appropriate, the higher the chance of success the higher level of backlash inflicted on the user"

"That sounds..."

"Painful? Yeah"

"It's a valuable resource, however"

Hayashi walks to the school where the car is parked and turns it on before driving it to the three novice awakeners

"Get in"

Abe looked at the car

"W-When did you-!?"

"My shelter and I have been busy"

The engine roared as they got in and drove off, occasionally getting out to fight zombies getting them easy to level up, Abe and Chiharu seemed to be able to resist easily however Chiko seemed a bit off, using his only offensive ability appeared to be nonexistent.

Nothing but a puff of air would come out doing nothing.

"What happened!?" Chiko would begin to shout attracting three zombies.

two of the three zombies were swiftly defeated.

"You have more abilities right!?"

Chiko panicked and activated a random ability

The gourd started to suck in air as Chiko laughed anxiously

A sharp mid-range air fissure shot from the gourd taking an arm off the zombie as it advanced, Hayashi nodded and threw a hard clay ball to the [Hyotan User] who fumbled it. He looked at it for a few moments but then put it into his gourd and fired a long-range shot splitting the zombie's head in two.

"I-I did it!"

Chiko's legs gave out and he fell to the ground

"Mhm, congrats kid. get in, we're nearly there right?"

"R-right..."

An hour later they made it to the entrance to Shelter 5, Hayashi parked the car in the front of the shelter, summoning his slingshot, and he would look around to see many people, including armed soldiers.

"Shelter 5, a shelter in control by the military...In my last life, the military was mainly run by the rich, I doubt it's any different now..."

He walked in with the three other awakeners, the first thing he would do is go around seeing people sitting on the ground, he walked past them, noticing one that had a wooden slingshot, it looked different from all his other slingshots.

"How much does this cost ma'am?"

"2 cans..." the woman said looking at Hayashi

"Deal." Hayashi puts his hand behind him and takes two cans from his inventory, one had canned meat the other had canned fish, the woman looked happy and smiled at the grey-haired teen as he took the slingshot.

"PING!" Acquired [Wooden Roller Slingshot]!

"A Roller slingshot...I only saw this in the videos"

"Your husband did woodwork?"

"Yes..."

"Where is he now?"

"He's out there on the frontlines...fighting back the undead"

"I pray he makes it home"

Hayashi nodded before leaving the woman.

A soldier watched him the entire time before pressing and talking on his walkie-talkie

Another male would watch from a large house from his window.

"It looks like we have a new guest here, he doesn't seem to be around from here, he's got food on him as well"

A blue-haired woman walked behind him

"He came alone, no companions"

"Anything special?"

"...He's domineering, for a child..."

"Domineering for a child?"

"His glance... it's so cold...and hostile"

The woman shivered as she donned a small smile.

"I'm sure our forces can subdue him"

"Mhm, but let's see what he'll do next-"

Hayashi's voice suddenly rings out loudly, holding his newly acquired slingshot

"BRING OUT THE BOSS OF THESE MILITARY FORCES!!"

Hayashi yelled out as an armed guard grabbed him by the arm

"Hey, quiet dow-AGH!"

Hayashi yanked his arm and dragged the guard to the ground, his eyes going from docile to hostile in a second, putting his foot on the guard so he couldn't get up, then the walkie-talkie caught his eye and he took it.

"Get to the entrance of Shelter 5, on the double!"

The moment tens of guards started to surround the entrance, before zeroing in on Hayashi and pointing various guns at him before looking at everyone surrounding him.

"Two, three, four... Four at my twelve... two at my nine and three. four at my front Ok."

Hayashi ran at the four soldiers in front of him, then beat them all down before stopping.

"None of you...none of you are actual soldiers...All of you are...just civilians given guns..."

Hayashi looked behind them and activated the [BLOODLUST] skill to scare them to the point where shock knocks them out before a male with red hair holding a large hammer approached Hayashi pointing his hammer at Hayashi's face.

"You the leader of this place?"

"What are you talking about ki-"

"Wrong question....you the leader of this military site?"

Hayashi kicked a soldier out of his way, annoying the red-haired man

"No, I'm not the leader..."

"Then are you their "Champion" ?"

"Yes, I'm their Champion."

"Good."

Hayashi rushed at the red-haired man summoning his [Ronin] slingshot before being hit with a large war hammer, slamming into the wall.

"AGH!"

Hayashi groaned in pain and struggled to get back up, one hit was enough to put him in enough pain the struggle even to move before he smiled at the hammer-wielding awakener.

"PING" [Fighting Spirit] has forcefully activated! [Ki Breathing] has forcefully activated!

Hayashi's body stood firm, and he suddenly bulked up, his body looking more lean and fit, and his soul avatar was now visible due to his [Spirit Sigil], he stayed quiet and summoned [Kaiser] and started to rush the hammer user, he attacked Hayashi, but Hayashi dodged into his blow, making the hammer miss him by a few inches.

"You're not going to get me by swinging that hammer around."

Lightning surrounded the Grey-haired boy and the red-haired man became infuriated trying to strike Hayashi with a skill.

[Mirage Blow]

Suddenly two more hammers appeared from thin air, made from light constructs appeared from both sides of Hayashi, the third hammer the red-haired man was holding, jumped in the air as Hayashi was surrounded.

"Damn…No one said it'd be easy!"

[Spirit Manifest]

Hayashi created 2 small spirits each with the lightning attribute as they flew toward the hammer user and shocked him with concentrated lightning, interrupting and dispelling the [Mirage Blow].

Hayashi took the initiative to attack, transferring his power to his blade.

The skill doesn't work as Hayashi has insufficient spirit energy to use it, he switched to his more direct skills.

[Master Mode][Multi-Strike]

The Grey-haired boy suddenly gained experience however he was becoming more and more tired as the hammer user parried him into the air. Hayashi looked at him, his eyes showed no fear as he fell from the sky.

[Light Smash]

The hammer user's war hammer glowed fiercely before it was lifted into the Spirit Hunter, however, he didn't give up until the very end, the pain and damage from the hammer's strikes were taking its toll on him, with one last slash, Hayashi took all his remaining power and slashed downward, Breaking the blade but giving him enough time to land a hit with his slingshot.

Hayashi's slingshot lit up with energy as he landed a headshot at point-blank range knocking out the hammer user.

"Hah…hah…"

Hayashi stood over his foe and looked at him, his knees shaking from exhaustion. He walked away into a nearby truck, hiding in the trunk to hide and recover.

Night falls on the small encampment Hayashi wakes up in the same trunk, amazed that no one has found him as he jumped out, the entire town seems to have left the outside, looking around he then went towards the entrance before a man in a tux was smoking, revealing his face and his scarlet red eyes, right in front of a campfire.

"Well then, it looks like the bigshot has awakened once more."

Hayashi didn't think he was talking to him and so left, before hearing the man call out to him.

"You! grey haired boy!"

"...Yes?"

Hayashi turned around, letting his presence be known.

"I saw your bout with Heijirou Chizuki."

"Was that his name? He was really strong. I got lucky."

Hayashi closed his eyes reminiscing what he could remember from the fight.

"I think your weapon is rather unique"

"Mhm"

"Fitting a dagger into a slingshot, a simple yet effective approach, but doesn't it feel weird to fight with it?"

"{Now that he mentions that, it does feel pretty weird, but I'm used to the sensation}"

"Yeah, it felt weird at first but I'm used to the feeling."

"Your blade also got broken if you want I can fix it, maybe make it even better-"

"Introduce yourself first before using your marketing speech."

Hayashi cut the man off looking at him.

"Take a skewer and we can talk."

"Name?"

"Tanaka Sota"

Hayashi rattled his brain for a few seconds before remembering who Tanaka was.

"{He's the guy who made weapons and armor from "Demon Beasts" and made massive profits. Lucky me.}"

Hayashi took a skewer from the fire.

"How can you improve my weapon?"

"We can make your weapons stronger, more durable, sharper"

"Go on...?"

Hayashi thought to his system.

"{System, with all the resources I've accumulated, upgrade all weapons to Rank 3.}"

"PING!" All weapons have advanced to Rank 3 [Hornet Emporer] has evolved to [Black Mantis],[Emerald Tempest] has evolved to [Jade Cyclone], [Last Stand] has evolved to [Final Defiance],[Kaiser] has evolved to [Fist Iron].

"{Good...All those resources used will make me more powerful...I'll be able to take down mutants and mutated zombies easier...}"

"Say...If I were to hunt one of these demon beasts, how could you make use of them?"

"I'm glad you asked! Different parts have different effects! We sell the meat of the demon beasts to detoxify them and keep the pelt, bones, and anything that could be used."

"like?"

"Bones of Demon Beasts can be used to make medicinal powder, the pelt makes leather, things like horns and fangs and sacks can be used to create weapons"

"I'll Consider it."

Hayashi leaves, going into the forest where the car was parked and he started to drive back home. The road was long and tiring, he mapped Shelter 5 on his mental map as he drove home he noticed a lot of corpses and activated [Harvest moon] gaining a few hundred resources.

Hayashi parks the car again and opens the gate once he gets there before parking the car in front of the school.

"Finally finished..."

Hayashi talked to himself as he laid the chair down and fell asleep flashing back to the moments before the end of his first life.

"Commander!? COMMANDER! Tch!"

The grown Hayashi picked up the rifle next to his commander and slowly advances through a swampy grassland, ahead of him were mutated bugs and plants, some of which looked like the plant that killed him before.

"DAMN YOU!"

He shot rashly, emptying a clip before advancing slowly and replacing the clip, looting any dead body he could along the way, before waking up, sweating. A few hours passed by, and not able to know why he keeps having this dream it slowly wears down on him so he gets out of the car and finds the school greenhouse which grows fruits and vegetables, picking a peach from a large tree that has grown in the middle of the greenhouse then eating it. The seed was then thrown in a bag of other fruit seeds for regrowth.

"This base is the most secure location in japan in case of an attack...Maybe I should...pay a visit to the criminal faction as well..."

Hayashi talked to himself before feeling something grip his leg.

"Mew!"

The cat meows at Hayashi.

"Oh- Hey Ni-Liv"

"Right...I'm not strong enough to even attempt something like that...I have to level up my skills first."

Hayashi would create and absorb spirits made from the [Spirit Sigil] on his hand.
