Lawful Agression

Morning arrived, and Hayashi was in the car again, sleeping after staying up all night; his door opened on him: forcing him awake.

"HWA!"

Hayashi awakened, his reflexes springing into action, catching himself.

"Who-"

Hayashi looked up, staring back at Akari.

"You need something pres?"

"A grey-haired boy with a slingshot single-handedly defeated the champion and small army of Shelter 5?"

Akari looked at him, pretty pissed.

"They threatened us first," Hayashi sat upright, hands on the wheel, "I just showed them I don't mess around."

"As much as I understand that, you didn't have to decimate their entire fighting force," she sighed, "Why couldn't you have just found the leader and had a discussion?"

"I did: he never came out, so I decided to pay him a visit, "Hayashi shrugged, "He wasn't home."

Her eyes said something her mouth didn't; something about getting bit in the ass?

She sighed, "Since I can't control how you react, I'll change your target."

"Oh?"

"The scouting team found a criminal stronghold with a small group of bandits and murderers."

"Ok?"

"Decimate them," she held her hands to her lips, ''you can bring a team or go by yourself."

"I'll go with my team: the Mizuki twins, Nishiwaka, Chiyo, Fueki, and Yoshida, should be enough."

"Will do, Mr.Slingshot soldier," she saluted half-heartedly and was on her way.

Hayashi smiled at her attempt before taking a slingshot from a box and assembling it; doing this a few more times, he'd stash them in his inventory. Hayashi continued this cycle until he heard the doors open and close as the [Defender] [Warrior] [Shinobi] [**Blade Dancer] and the two evolvers piled into the car.

"Everyone ready?"

"Hm!"

They all nodded; however, another member hopped into the passenger seat.

"Oh, Ni-Liv," the feline purred, curling awkwardly in the seat.

Hayashi laughed before closing the window, welcoming the feline. He pulled up the part of the map where the criminal faction stronghold was located and drove quickly, not avoiding zombies on the road.

"So... how was everyone's day?"

"Good, then I got on your service," Genji murmured; his sister laughed.

"You don't work, you don't eat," Hayashi remarked, "You're welcome."

The party entered a nearby ruined town, seemingly the shopping district nearby; he was looking for a detention center.

"This is the place."

Hayashi parked the car, and everyone stepped out; unfortunately, the sound of the car doors was loud enough for zombies to notice and advance.

"Kill them all!" Hayashi shouted; the order was unnecessary, as the small group would make short work of the hoard.

[Harvest Moon]

Hayashi stretched his arm towards the sky and absorbed anything the zombies had on them; small moons drifted from him and collected what the zombies dropped before letting the bodies deteriorate.

"What's next?" Ichika asked.

"We're looking for something that could house death row inmates," Hayashi said off-handedly, "Like a detention center or something."

"Like that building over there?" Yoshida pointed to a grey, gloomy building, and a moment of silent disbelief between them.

Hayashi squinted, "Yeah, yeah, like that," Hayashi took up a piece of marble debris.

[Create Munitions]

His hands wrapped around it; pleased with it, he picked up scrap metal and plastic and used his skill to create <<Dart Rounds>> for [Black Brazen Hawk].

"Let's go" Hayashi leads his team to the large building. It was a corporate office where a medium company had settled. Though now the building was desolate and semi-ruined. The group entered the building, each of them armed and ready.

A small bark alerted them to a squatted gray wolf. His fur blended in well with the exterior of the office.

"You think they have a 'No pets' policy," Hayashi whispered.

Nishikawa snickered, "Criminals have standards."

[Apex Sight] [Sword Dance] [Lord of Bastion]

The three abilities activated simultaneously: the [Defender], [Blade Dancer], and [Spirit Hunter] entered cautiously into the building, playing the vanguard. The smell of sweat, smoke, alcohol, and filth assaulted their nostrils before a gunshot missed Hayashi by an inch.

His eyes whipped in the direction of the shot. His slingshot up and arm drawn.

"Come on out! I can see you!" a middle-aged man looked up at them from some sort-of makeshift bar. His voice was scratchy; he was probably the source of the smokiness.

[Spirit Cross]

His finger released, but the bullet didn't find its mark and grazed his shoulder. Upon impact, the man escaped through a wooden door.

"Damn," Hayashi cursed, "I hit his shoulder. Let's go!"

"After him!" Yoshida yipped, running towards a staircase.

"Right!"

The group chased after him, rushing through the second floor. Zombies and weaker criminals flooded their path, and Fueki swiftly dispatched them.

The group advanced before getting stopped on the 7th floor.

There was an office door: incoherent muttering was audible on the other end, and if someone was willing to press their ear to it. Hayashi. Hayashi was that person.

"I won't do it," this voice was feminine, probably close to Hayashi's age, "I'm not crazy!" She seemed frustrated.

"I provide for you; this is the least you could do?" A louder, more masculine voice yelled. Hayashi recoiled; he didn't need to have his ear as close for the last part.

"Provide for me?" there was a pause, "You sack of shit! Without us, what would you do?"

The door swung open, and Hayashi and Co. stood in front of a tan girl. She was about 2 inches taller and had reddish brown hair that rested around her shoulders in waves. Her clothes were simple: black cargo pants, a white shirt, grey windbreaker. Her brown eyes met Hayashi's, and there was a brief moment of stillness.

"Who the hell..?" She uttered; confusion followed promptly by recognition.

"Hayashi, Class: Spirit Hunter," she didn't seem surprised about his readiness to share this information.

"Carmen, Class: Druidic Shaman," she pressed her hand to her chest when she talked.

"Why would you tell her that!?" Fueki exclaimed. Carmen's attention drifted to her, then to Chiyo, Yoshida, and Nishikawa.

"Relax, don't interfere." Hayashi pulled [Black Brazen Hawk]'s loaded band and focused.

[Spirit Cross]

Her eyes watched him pull ready, and she pushed past them; a glimmer of metal flashed. It took a moment to realize what she'd done.

Hayashi instantly ran after, realizing his mistake; he yelled, "Mizuki twins with me, everyone else, work your way up!"

It took seconds for them to cross the threshold and get out into the open.

"I don't wanna kill you; just surrender," Hayashi's voice was coarse, and his breathing was heavy.

The girl whistled; the wolf from before stretched and sprinted ahead. It was massive; even as it ran, it was taller than him. It moved too quickly for something its size.

Her wolf raced into the forest, its grey coat blending into the shadows. It didn't take long for Hayashi to run after her; and for the Mizuki twins to run after him.

"Damn it!" Ichika groaned, "I didn't sign up for all this running,"

[Blitz][Manifest Spirit][Spirit Sacrifice]

Hayashi felt his body lighten and propel toward his target. The summoned spirits slammed into each other and reached level 3. The weightless apparition caught up to her swiftly as the distance between Carmen and Hayashi increased.

Carmen looked back occasionally, but she was running into new areas of forest. It felt dead, there should be birds chirping in the lush green trees. Creatures scurried between the roots that curled up and through the dirt. Something was triggering Hayashi and the worst part was he couldn't place it. She turned hard into the underbrush.

[Blitz]

Hayashi's legs gained traction, and his body, once again, became lighter, though not because of his skill.

"Stop, slow down!"

The twins slowed to a jog and peered into the pit that had swallowed Hayashi.

Genji groaned, "We'll, uh," he paused; Ichika picked up where he left off, "We'll get you out of there."

Hayashi had a bad feeling about this. Carmen had led him here: led him into a hole in an unfamiliar stretch of woods, and he had let her. She was probably looking back to make sure he . . .he what?

[Apex Sight]

Hayashi felt a rush of cold as his senses expanded. His senses heightened as he let his eyes wander to the Mizuki twins. Their small, faint outlines were stark blue against the brown dirt, but there was something else, something in red, coming behind them fast.

"Hey, watch out behind you--," Hayashi's words were interrupted; by Genji's scream ringing out. The blue outlines, along with the red, slowly approached him.

When they got in range, Carmen spoke, "Take him out," she produced a length of rope from her waist that she'd been previously using as a belt. Once"What's another stirred doing around here, and why are you with sleepers?"

"Sleepers?" Hayashi asked, "What are you talking about?"

"I," she sighed, "Do you realize I could kill this one?"

There was a pause, "We won't kill you. If you get me out and surrender."

Ignoring Hayashi, Carmen tilted Ichika's head back, her blade flicking out and dangling over her throat, "I'm going to ask a question; someone will answer. If you lie, she dies. Do you understand?" She took the silence as a yes, "Where are you from?"

Genji chimed, albeit frantically, "From our base, a little up north, the high school, *school name*."

"Don't tell her that," Hayashi exclaimed, "There's two of us, we can take her."

"Yea"

"Don't bother, just answer my questions. "Why did you kill the criminals? What are you here for?"

Hayashi looked into his subspace as he had an abundance of materials.

[Create Arms]!

The skill failed as what he was thinking of couldn't be used as a weapon.

"Shit... Fine!, We're from a newly formed base and those criminals attacked us first! We're here to beat them back, and obliterate their ranks!"

He looked up at the entrance of the hole and was about to make a drastic measure and use his daggers to stab into the walls of his man-made prison before a rope fell in front of him after he heard the sound of someone falling.

He grabbed on and got pulled up by the foreign girl.

"You...Believe us?"

"Yeah, your words aren't lies, however t,hey are also half-truths," Carmen said

"Half-truths?"

"Not all these guys are criminals."

"True..."

"Come on, it's best we finish this event before I go back to where I need to go."

"Yeah, that seems to be the best option! Ichika! Kenji! time to go and reunite with the rest of the team!"

"You came with a team?"

"Why wouldn't I?"

"Never mind, let's reunite with your team of awakened."

"Alright, System! Skills!"

Spirit Manifest: Manifest spirit bodies made from spiritual wisps to fight with you

Spirit Sacrifice: Sacrifice a manifested spirit body for buffs, debuffs, or attacks. You may also wear their spirit rings to learn a skill temporarily and allows spirit transmutation

Spirit Cross: Form a cross made from spirit energy to enhance the range, power, and accuracy of ranged weapons

Harvest Moon: A small moon appears behind the user to store items and spirit husks, the moon will be able to store more items as this skill levels up.

Multi-strike: Strike multiple enemies at once, each strike increases your CRIT, Form strike chains to increase maximum power

Shatter-Shot: shots that successfully hit the target will shatter and cause a second burst of damage

Area Morale: Increase the morale of yourself and your allies boosting all stats by 12

Swift Step: Increase the speed of the caster

BLOODLUST: Show your killing intent to your enemies, targets with lower INT than the user will be affected more than those with higher INT stat

Spirit Blade: create an aura of spirit energy around your blade

Fighting Spirit: Increasing power and concentration may augment certain skills. Special effect: Knocks back enemies and nullifies ailments once by using [Discharge]

Hunter's mark: weak points are marked on a target, and critical hits are guaranteed when hit.

Apex Sight: the user is granted the sight of an apex predator; appraisal, spirit a,nd enemy sight, farsight, and weak point targeting are granted

7 Elements Pact-applies elemental buff on the caster, increases elemental damage and resistance

[Arms Master] Skills:

Master Mode: Raise weapon proficiencies to MAX level, may use proficiency-based skills for 3 minutes

Create Arms: Create weapons from resources on hand

Create Munitions: Create Ammunition from resources on hand

Area: Enhance arms: Double the stats of all allied weapons

Area: Enhance Munitions: Double the stats of all allied ammo

Area: Enhance Armors: Double defensive power of all allied armor

Repair: Repair weapons, armor, and vehicles

Refine: use spirit ki to refine the rough spots of weapon and armor

He checked his skills as he ran towards his team with his companions Ichika and Genji along with Carmen, buffing them all with [Spirit Sacrifice]. Soon enough they made it to the rest of the group as Chiyou would run towards Hayashi as they just finished off a miniboss they found while clearing out the town.

"Hayashi!" Chiyou yelled getting his attention.

"Who is this woman Silver Hair?" Carmen asked

"She's the" Hayashi was about to have a remark before getting cut off

"I'm Chiyou!" Chiyou introduced herself.

"Are you another awakened?" Carmen would ask.

Carmen could only stare at Chiyou's chest wondering how she could fight with it.

"She's basically the team mom haha!" Hayashi joked.

Carmen looked at her in slight fear as a purple aura surrounded Chiyou.

"What?" Hayashi asked.

"Look behind you." She sighed

Chiyou was behind Hayashi giving off the most intimidating smile he's ever seen.

"This team is strong but weird." Carmen voiced as she had grown profound respect and fear for Chiyou.

"These are the rest of the squad! Guys introduce yourselves!" Hayashi would say as Chiyou would drag him away somewhere.

"Hello, you probably remember me. But just for reintroduction, I'm Fukei!"

"I remember you. You have an incredible blade."

"Thanks! It was our blacksmith who made it."

"PING!"

The system goes off and it reads: "EVENT: VOLCANIC ERUPTION, EVENT: DUNGEON BREAK, EVENT: ASTROIDFALL=> EVENT: TRIPLE CALAMITY"

"PING" ACHIEVEMENT: SURVIVAL OF TRIPLE CALAMITY

"PING" QUEST: SURVIVE TRIPLE CALAMITY

"Guys..." Nishikawa said as he heard the system .

"We got it too..." Chiyou and Hayashi said as they came back.

"Triple Calamity?" Yoshida asked.

"Hey guys, look-" Carmen said as she looked at a goblin advancing to them.
