Chapter VI "Tension"

Orquídea just lay on the bed, he was so scared, why was that man so good with him? why wasn't he punished by the vampire? at the end he hurt his pride, so why did he just beg for forgiveness? Tears started to roll down his eyes, he felt so hurt, he felt like he was being fooled by Stephan, some kind of wicked plan that would make him think that the vampire lord is a good man and fall in love with him, betraying his kingdom and parents. But, if that is the case, then his plan is having some kind of effect, the reason being that he was taught that night creature are ruthless and evil, and that would make miserable the lives of their victims. But Stephan hasn't behaved that way with him, he was so tender and sweet with him, with made the young princess have conflicted emotions towards him.

Even the people he had met during his stay in the kingdom were good to him, they didn't try to harm him and treat him with respect, probably because they know him as the fiancée of their ruler, but the way they expressed their admiration for him is kind of strange, Carmine said it was because of his purple eyes, that was weird. Sure, he inherited his eyes from his mother and it was kind of rare for humans to have them, but the people from his kingdom didn't treat him as if he was some kind of special being, on the contrary, he was treated as the princess of their kingdom nothing else.

But why are purple eyes so special for the night creatures? was it because they looked pretty and can be compared to gemstones? he didn't know the reason, but at least he could feel safe. So he joined his hands in prayer and pray for Saintess Amani, to help him in this new life and secure his respect among the night creatures. Being a devotee of Amani, Orquídea was familiar with his story, a young omega man whose good connection with the night creatures is unjustly condemned to death at the stake by the church, but due to some miracles being reported a faction of the church decided to canonize him, but still, the main church see him as a witch who decided to meddle with demons.

He and his parents come from that church faction, so Orquídea was taught about Amani and even was compared to him, mostly because his purple eyes were similar to his. Could it be that is the reason why the night creatures were fond of him? probably that was the reason behind the night creatures finding him beautiful and the reason why they are fond of purple eyes. Orquídea decided to get up from bed and went to the window, where he opened the curtains and decided to look at the sun setting down.

The young princess just decided to enjoy the landscape, it was quite calming. The way the night devoured the sunlight as the sun hid behind the mountains and slowly that light is replaced by the moonlight. It was a moment of reflection for the young man, in his twenty years of life this is the first time he had experienced this kind of chaotic situation, then he realized that he had a life full of love and tranquility, sadly that life won't return. Orquídea had come to the conclusion that he had to accept his new life, accept the fact that he will become the vampire lord's bride, and had to adapt to life on his side.

" Please Amani, guide me in this tumultuous situation and help me to accept that man." Prayed the young man, he trusted that the saintess would help him to overcome the tension he have with the old man and at least be able to feel comfortable in his presence.

Stephan was sitting on his bed, his hand touching the spot where Orquídea had slapped him. He didn't feel pain, but emotionally he was hurt. He was known for being a ruthless man that would punish those that defy him, but he couldn't bring himself to be angry with the young princess, it was understandable he would react that way, he was afraid of him, the one who would destroy his home and forcibly bring him to his kingdom like he was some kind of war spoil. But, there was a reason behind all of this, the king of Los Andes didn't accept his kindhearted proposal so he had to do it the harder way. But now there is nothing to worry about, now he got the princess and soon he will be his wife.

Stephan looked at the big painting that hung on one of the walls of his spacious bedroom, it depicted a young man sitting in a chair, he had a shy smile and his big purple eyes looked directly at the spectator. His dark skin contrasted perfectly with the white dress that hung from his shoulders, and which embroidery was hidden by the locks of long, black hair that fell over his shoulders, and in his delicate, petite hands, there was a bouquet of white roses and palms. In short, this painting had a light of purity and innocence around it, which made the man in the painting look like some kind of angelic being. Stephan got close to the painting and touched it, feeling the cracks of the oil paint that had formed due to the passing of the years.

" My flower, it's been years but finally I had found you, let me make up all those years lost, and let us be together for eternity." Proclaimed the old man, his eyes looking with devotion at the artwork before him, his smile was a sincere one, finally, he could be happy after many years of being filled with misery.
