Splashes And Flickers

"Max…" her voice came out as a hushed whisper as the soft cloth pressed on her shoulder. Maximus' knuckle grazed on her cheek and she wetted her lips.

"I can wash myself," she tried to get the washcloth from his hand.

But his hold on the washcloth tightened and the cloth got squeezed. The water dripping from the cloth was colder than the water in the tub. As the cold water rolled through her porcelain skin, she gulped unable to bear the warmth that started rising in her abdomen.

She bowed her head and watched the flickering candlelight casting a glittery sparkle on the surface of the water. The entire place was filled with silence except for the splashing noises created as he moved his hand. The water level was up to her armpits and the gentle waves of the water tickled her making her chest tighten. There must be something in the fragrance that spread, as she could sense getting relaxed, despite all that.
