Taken away

The waves of time continually, unendingly crash against the reality that surrounds us, while we the tiny islands on such restless waves, hardly ever have the power to resist its swing. And so in this moment in time, on the mysterious Marf street, in a hollow, empty room where sat a young man constrained, the pendulum had begun to swing once more.

The young man in question, Bultear was currently enveloped in a profound sense of unease and fear.

'What... why did I tell him about the dimension... that was the only thing I decided not to tell him. Shit, this is a problem, even though I have no clue what it was, I for damn sure know that it's something that'll be taken seriously by them. I even told him about me being a candidate and now they know I'm important to someone. God knows what'll they do to me now...*sigh*... I'll just make something up, maybe they'll believe me if tell them I was dreaming or maybe had a mental breakdown...*haha*... yeah I don't think that would work... *sigh*... no rest for the wicked I guess.'

The more he thought, the more misery he piled on to himself and the more sweaty his forehead became. The same could be said for a man with silver hair hurriedly entering this same building.

...

"Safir! I'm here! Where is the subject!"

Crashing through the wooden doors of the main office, the man in question, Krell Emell shouted at Safir without an ounce of respect. Immediately the expressions of the two men present changed drastically in diametrically different ways. Dernek, who was already in a bad mood, narrowed his eyes dangerously. Safir on the other hand, barely stopped himself from laughing at this crazy scientist, that rarely cared for anything other than Evolvers and things related to them.

"Mr Emell, you're finally here, fantastic! No need for further talking I will personally lead you to the subject."

To Safir's unexpected proclamation, Dernek shocked voice spread out.

"Director! No need for you to spend your valuable time with this man, I am more than enough."

" Calm down Dernek, I haven't yet had the opportunity to talk to Emell personally after his reinstatement, and yes you are more than enough to stay here and take care of business if need be while I'm away."

" ...Yes sir..."

After completely ignoring Dernek's dejected look, he led Krell to the main hall that let to the prison cell.

'At least Fjoroft is a calm individual and meetings with him go by relatively calmly, even when Dernek antagonizes him. Krell is crazy, it was a smart decision to not allow even one second to pass with the two of them together.'

Thinking of how he had really done good by separating Dernek and Krell, he heard Krell ask.

" I always wondered, but why are the prison cells holding the most dangerous criminals and unknown specimen inside of the HQ? What if they break out? You and that idiot of yours would be in danger."

' It really was a good idea not having Dernek go with this guy.'

"Well, you see Krell, If the prison was somewhere else they would be in a better position to escape than here."

"Really? What makes you so confident?"

Safir's unhurried steps slowed before stopping completely, slowly turning his head, his crimson, slightly glowing eyes in the dim hallway seemed like an otherworldly beast had set its sights upon him, causing him to shiver.

"The answer is simple, Krell, in this building I am the most dangerous existence.

"..."

" Let us continue."

"Yes sir"

No longer did Krell show the disregard and the usual lack of respect, now with but a simple look, he had become obedient.

...

As Bultear was wallowing in doubt and uncertainty. He once again heard a sound familiar to him. When the massive metal doors screeched open as two men entered, one of them: a middle-aged man with silver hair, came extremely close while observing him as if he was some test subject.

" Interesting...*hmm*... on first glance he looks completely normal, to think that this unassuming young man just recently came back from the living...* hahaha*... Safi-... Director, I must thank you for this gift, I can't wait for me to start my research!"

When Bultear looked at the calm man next to this lunatic, the contrast between the screaming dishevelled man and the serene man next to him made for a rather unusual contrast. His crimson eyes reminded Bultear of jewels bathed in blood.

' First, I was probably brainwashed in a certain way by that overly nice blondie, now this duo arrives to do God knows what to me... I don't think I'm getting out this unscathed.

After Krell had calmed down, and made way for Safir, Bultear could see the white-haired man of impeccable looks slowly approach him, put his hand on his shoulder, and with a calming smile tell him.

" It's okay, we are here to help you, no need to worry."

Seeing those eyes up close made him completely unable to express his deep mistrust after hearing those same words that blonde man told him before brainwashing him. As his mouth opened to say something to the man in front of him, Krell came in behind him and suddenly stabbed him in the neck with a sharp object.

Before the shocked Bultear could say anything, he slumped down and lost consciousness.

" This'll make him sleep for a day, enough time to carry him to my lab."

"I expect results, Krell, reinstating you to the position of head of the research department was a hit on my reputation, for a newly appointed director that means a lot you know. I want my investment to bear fruit."

" Worry not director! I promise you that it was not in vain. I will pour everything into this. You will not come to regret it!"

To the impassioned promise made by this subordinate of his, Safir slowly nodded and calmly smiled.
