First Mission

The training period had ended, the objective for Bultear to discover and acclimate to his powers was reached. Sitting in the infirmary the now healed Bultear was stuffing his face with fried lobster and potatoes, humming to himself happily for the fact that the extravagant food was something he could not get used to. The disappointment of not landing a hit on Sinthia fading with each bite he took. He knew that there was a lot to him that still needed to be uncovered, especially after the last attack.

'I can pretty much conclude that I can use more than three abilities, which is weird as Safir told me that stage ones only have three abilities that correspond to the three organs that evolved. Since stage ones can't have more than three organs evolve they can't have more than three abilities, on the flip side, one organ can't have more than one ability. So me coming back to life was not the only anomaly it seems.'

The thoughts went on in tandem with his ravenous devouring of the high-class cuisine This period he enjoyed the most went by too quickly as his thinking was interrupted by the group of people entering the room and speaking to him.

"You seem well, Bultear."

"You too Milek, I haven't seen you since the first day." Answered Bultear putting down the lobster leg that was inches away from his mouth.

"He ran away scared."

Chimed in Sinthia from the side sarcastically not missing a beat when it came to messing with Milek.

*cough*

"No, I did not run away... I was in the spectator section observing your progress, noting down my observations since I took over from the captain."

"Took over? Where is the captain, I also didn't see him."

"He received an urgent message from Sull, who was on mission, so he went to his location."

"Urgent message? Is everything okay? My training could have been postponed, you could have gone with the captain if it's urgent."

"We didn't because he wrote in the message that only the captain was necessary..."

*woosh* *thud*

The door to the infirmary then bust open with the door handle hitting the wall hard Brock ran in while sweating.

"Another urgent message from the captain!"

"Calm down, speak slowly."

The laid back attitude Pax showed throughout the training period was nowhere to be seen, replaced with seriousness befitting Fjoroft's second in command.

"He said he needs all the seats to assemble at his location ASAP, the reports of cult activity was proven true. Yet the situation has complicated."

"Should we bring our squads, if so then it would take more time to prepare." Asked Milek

"No, he said that only the people present here should mobilize to save time."

"Everybody present?" Bultear wanted clarification

"Yes, all of you."

" *hehehe* Are you ready for your first mission, friend."

The way in which Milek posed the question was somewhere in between taunting and genuine, Bultear could not tell.

"I'm here aren't I? No point in being ready or not, I just have do it."

"We'll talk on the way there, now we move!"

...

The scene in the Mercy language school was a troubling one for Sull Mickert; the 4th seat and Fjoroft Morost the captain. A dark, red cloud was hovering over the school with a menacing glint.

"So you say that when you arrived everything seemed normal?" Asked Fjoroft

"Indeed, when we came here in suspicion of cult activity, we sent scouts in and combed the area. The children and the teachers seemed fine. Most of the day was spent doing rudimentary procedures. Then just when we were ready to leave suddenly a missing student was reported. We then spent the next day looking for him and called you here for back up. Instead of finding him this thing appeared. We had initially thought that the cultists were trying to take initiative to strike since we were hot on their tail..."

"But nothing has happened yet."

"Sir! The seats along with new recruit Bultear are on their way!"

"Good. We shall wait here and observe until they arrive." Ordered Fjoroft

"How has the evacuation of the school gone?"

"It has gone well, all of the students and staff are in the courtyard being counted for."

"When you finish, have them leave the premises as quickly as possible. We don't know how the situation can still develop."

"Yes, Sir!"

The member of Sull's squad left to relay the orders.

...

Deep in the Mercy language school rested the entrance to the storehouse of the school where a young fourteen year old boy was holding a knife. Tears of blood were streaming down his face as he recited words of grim foreboding.

"Vojte Eme Temene Zwall Ad Ojdes E Aspis!"

The chant caused his eyes to spill even more blood on the ground his skin grew gray. The ground shook and the cloud above the school was seeped in an ever brighter red. The ancient language seemed to have an effect on reality as the gutted cat on the ground trembled when his blood tears went inside of the carcass' empty stomach.

"Vojte Eme Temene Zwall Ad Ojdes E Aspis!"

The chant was repeated for the last time as the child completely lost vision, his eyes now completely dried up and withered. One could imagine the horror of a cat carcass bloated with blood after it had started floating. The heavy stomach shook wildly as it bulged, the blood swinging and swimming inside the poor, sacrificed animal.

The child could no longer see what was happening in front of him; in the cramped, dark storage the blood filled stomach bulged even more, it grew, and grew some more before the small body of the animal could no longer support its sheer size. It promptly burst open as a man filled with nails came out of the exploded carcass.

"You did good child, the Other Gaze will look fondly upon your noble contribution today. Leave it to us; The Eye Of The Sky will handle everything now."
