Volume 2. Chapter 1. Confusing

Three days later. Zein came back to the house where his four older brothers were, he brought his fiancé.

"Thank you for breakfast…"

Clara got up from her seat and tidied up the container they had been eating in.

"Sister-in-law, let me help ..." Tiara offered to bring everyone a place to eat.

"Thank you, Tiara." Clara is happy to get help from Tiara.

"Eh?" Tiara, who wanted to pick up and carry a pile of containers, was stopped by Vail.

"Let me help Clara...here, you are our guest. So, there is no need to do this kind of thing." Vail said and grabbed a pile of food containers to take to the backyard.

Vail took a pile of dirty food containers to the back of the house to be cleaned.

"Why does old brother Vail seem to have changed?" Zein was so surprised.

"What do you mean?" Tiara was curious.

"It feels like brother Vail is seducing you...it wouldn't be fun if brother stole his younger brother fiancé—"

Rii was surprised by what Zein said, Cini choked on his drink at what Zein said.

"Is it okay, older brother?" Zein looked worried when he saw Cini choking on water.

"Since when do you have a fiancé?" Rii was so curious.

"Ah...at first it was just an ordinary romance in the third year of the academy," Zein said. Tiara nodded her head to confirm Zein's words.

"Even though it's not officially..."

Zein's words made Cini and Rii freeze.

Vail and Clara had finished washing the cutlery when they returned to join them. Vail saw Cini and Rii who were so shocked.

"Hmm…? What's wrong with you two?" Vail was surprised by Cini and Rii's stony silence.

"Zein...what is your purpose for coming this time? Is there a need?" Clara was curious about Zein's arrival and brought Tiara for the second time. After her three adopted older brothers returned.

"My arrival wants to let you know that we will soon be engaged properly and well," Zein told her of purpose in coming home.

"That's fine..." Cini didn't mind that.

"I think that's the right thing to do." Rii didn't mind.

"Accept--"

"Wait Zein...have you told Tiara's parents about this?" Clara said in all seriousness. Because Clara knows the problems Zein and Tiara are facing.

"I didn't dare tell them," Zein answered without confidence.

"Then, I take back my blessing." Cini took back him previous statement.

"Old brother, wasn't it just now—"

"I say this seriously Zein."

Cini's statement made Zein very offended, and annoyed. Not knowing what was going on in his mind, Zein just walked away and left Tiara there.

"Rii...can you take care of Zein?" Vail asked.

"I understand." Rii goes out to chase Zein.

"Your name is Tiara, I'm sorry for what happened here. Please don't hate Zein." Vail approached Tiara.

"It's okay, Mr. Vail, I have prepared myself for something like this." Tiara didn't mind what had happened.

"I'm glad you're more mature than our little brother, but...why doesn't Zein want to tell your parents?" Vail was so curious.

"Are they busy?" Cini was also very curious.

"Actually…my parents are against this relationship," Tiara informed.

"The reason? At least there is a reason behind their refusal." Vail wants to know why Tiara's parents rejected their daughter's romance with Zein.

"In the past, my father suggested approaching Zein. And in the past, I also didn't have any feelings for Zein..."

"Brother Rii." Zein got up from his seat.

"I'll do it...I'll prove it to all of you, Tiara, and the nobles."

Upon arrival home. Zein didn't see Clara, and Rii didn't see Cini either.

"Fiancé!?"

"Why are you so surprised Zein, didn't you say you were getting engaged? So, l asked Tiara to return to her house accompanied by Cini. So that we pick her up in the right way." Vail informed.

"Prepare yourself Zein," Vail asked.

"Good--"

The sound of horses could be heard from inside the house. Someone opened the door, and it was none other than Cini. He apologized and said that he would go straight to the palace to borrow a horse-drawn carriage.

"The king lent the palace a horse-drawn carriage?!" Zein wasn't so sure his would be fine when he returned to the military.

Clara was surprised to see that Cini had not only borrowed a palace horse-drawn carriage but had two palace soldiers driving it.

"Where can you get a loan? Even though we have helped him, this seems excessive." Rii was so surprised.

"Secret, but in exchange…Vail, King Ligt asked me to tell you. If there is something you want to talk about that is very important. The king hopes you will come after hearing it." Cini said that the message was left for Cini to convey to Vail.

"I understand, thank you, Cini."

"Sorry Zein, I couldn't witness your engagement." Vail is so sorry.

"It's no problem is there's no party afterward anyway..." Zein informed him.

"Then I'll come along--"

"Clara, you accompany Zein. Replace me, after everything is over. I will ask you to tell me what happened." Vail interrupted Clara's words.

Finally, they all left for Tiara's residence using a horse-drawn carriage lent by the king, without Vail.

Vail closed the door of the house and went inside.

"They are all gone, you can appear… King Ligt." Vail looked at the seat near the window in the room.

"And why did you leave a message when you were coming? That's what I wanted to say but—"

"It turns out you saw me, I thought the magic I was given to be invisible was capable of tricking me." King Ligt didn't expect to be found out.

"To be honest, I didn't see it, but your presence is still there," Vail informed.

"Then…it's time to take you to the palace, Prince of Rii."

The sound of horses neighing could be heard from inside the house, king Ligt returned to the palace carrying Vail.

"King Ligt has arrived!"

The door to the throne room opened. Vail saw many people gathered, they were all high-class and influential nobles in the kingdom.

"Rii, you finally came. We've all been waiting for you." Lina approached.

"What happened?" He was so confused and curious.

"You'll figure it out yourself, come with me." Lina held Rii's arm and took him.

"Gentlemen, sorry for making you stand for so long..." The king apologized before he sat down on the throne chair.

"King, is this the person you mean?" Said one of the nobles among the many nobles.

"That's right Mr. Kart." The king confirmed the words of the Kart nobles.

"Are you sure about giving the position of Duke to this person? We don't know where he came from, he could be a spy from the empire." Noble Res reminded his king to be careful.

All the nobles expressed their refusal and asked King Ligt not to give the duke title carelessly.

"Please think again my king, the title of Duke can only be bestowed with a person who has a clear origin, is meritorious, loyal, and other supporters." Noble Betan. Refused and told his king.

"King, I think... what Mr. Betan, Mr. Res, and Mr. Kart say is true. Why do you even give the title of Duke to someone who has no reputation?"

"And according to imperial regulations, the most votes will be taken as the final result."

"Since we all reject it, then you have to follow the imperial regulations."

The nobleman smiled slightly after saying and telling the contents of his words.

"Well, I won't give him the title of Duke… but instead, I'll make him my son." King Ligt relented with his decision.

"As a noble, I accept it…it is much better than giving the title of Duke."

The young nobleman expressed his disagreement with King Ligt's words.
