An Urgent Meeting

"Close the door" A man spoke in a hasty tone, a sense of unease filled the rooms atmosphere, many of them were of an Elven race.

"Bring the document here" One of the men ordered the Elf with glasses, the one who had just entered the elaborately furnished room.

This room was special to the men that occupied it, painted portraits of his and her Majesty, they who have been with the King since the civil war, men who had experience and showed it with their appearance, all a bag of floppy skin full of scars and wrinkles on their aged faces.

The Elf with glasses goes forward and places the documents on the large long table, the people seated were people of high ranking positions within the government and institutions dedicated to the government.

"My Lord, we should really consider it" One of the men seated spoke with caution, there was still uncertainty on whether they should proceed or not

"I am with Minister Jules, we need to be cautious, the transferred people have capabilities that are still unknown to us, we need to wait for 2nd Lt. Ilga's report" A man spoke, he spoke with the same tone, he was a professor in the Meriavelan Institution of Magical Technologies, a Institution dedicated to the creation of newer technologies on the theorem of Magic and its ancient capabilities.

"The time may still not come, but I smell a war, the Elders assistive administration has wasted so much potential time and resources, in which we cannot spare anymore, we cannot let them interfere with us until we restore the her Highness" The more bulkier elf spoke up, he was an Officer of the Eastern Coalition Armies.

"That's correct, we have the supporters, we can lobby for a dissolvement of the Elders assistive administration with the Prime Minister, we can deal with the problems thereafter once they arrive" This man spoke with a more fervent tone of voice.

"It will be a controversial policy but our analysts predict that a majority would be in favor if we play our cards right" This time a more calm person spoke, he was the campaign analysist for the party, a bright individual with a knack for numbers and data analyzation .

"And if the Germans don't interfere in our politics." He added

"The idiots at Vanyalond and all of that unnecessary bureaucracy has divided opinions within our party stunting our party cohesiveness, I advise lobbying support for the Neutrality Act and the Right to Self Governance Mandate once the MNPDRLD (MNPDRLD monthly national parliamentary debate, revision and lobby day) start."

"That would be quite suspicious for the Elders Administration, the fact of the matter is that the common citizen is tired of the Elders and the idea of another nation whom we have just met, suddenly operate in the Great Forest without our strict surveillance is terrifying, we need to convince her Highness that this is all for the greater good"

"Her Highness has been inactive for 10 thousand years now, the tragic death of his Highness still shakes her Highness to her core"

"We are all getting off topic, the purpose of this meeting was to discuss about the Germans, they who have weapons we are unsure of that yields devastating capabilities, read the reports from the observers"

"Floating Fortresses, Golems of awesome proportions operating within the Great Forest, compact and deadly guns that fire more than our bolt actions in a second. These are all ridiculous claims, we should've received the news from the Elders Daily Broadcast, unless they are purposely withholding this info to not cause panic"

"Or they haven't even received it yet, making us the first people in the capital to know this"

"It's a very detailed report, but how trustworthy is this information? Would the Germans really listen to us and make deals with us if they are this powerful?"

"I think they are still gauging the strength of the Federation, Ilga herself has talked about the war capacity of the Federation being one of the lowest but is still a leader of a faction that encompasses the Eastern side of the world, our armies combined consists of 6 million and the fact that the Demon Realm is friendly with us, even sending in Lord Falmus, Lord Fozl and Lady Opi to our aid for support"

The Elf with glasses slammed the desk in frustration "Yeah and the Elders aren't doing anything with it"

Before they knew it they were now slandering the Elders, they were the most oppossed to the forming of the administration and have been known to critique everything they've done.

Another Elf quickly jumps in at the slandering.

"Either they've gone senile or someone is pulling the strings on them" To him it was just food for thought but it has truly made things even more clear if the latter was the case.

"Alright let's get back on topic" But they'll have to pursue that topic another time.

The Elf who caught everyones attention was a female elf in a suit, she immediately handed that attention to her friend.

Said friend gulps a bit of water from her glass then proceeded.

"I've heard from Ilga's report and the documents from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the Germans are a magic-less nation, it doesn't explain a single thing though, Continents were here in a flash and they have weapons that could overpower us without the need for magic, something about the reports feel odd"

"Yes, something is odd about all of this, should we consult the Duke once he arrives?"

"He has an important meeting with the Adventurers Guild Master, so no not yet, he has to keep his mind on a single thing for now, its one of the weaknesses of House Aielrindal, he told me about the curse but I've forgotten the finer details, I just know that he can't handle things all at the same time unlike us"

"That's a shame, Alright let's move on then"

"Agreed" The Bulkier elf spoke.

"So our stance with the Germans are neutral right now, I hope that Ilga changes it to a positive but that would take a while"

"I heard from her father, Admiral Waldschmidt that she has to return to the fleet as soon as possible, we can deploy another supporter of our party instead"

"We have to get the approval of Her Highness then, do you have a copy of the signatures of the Elders and their stamps?"

"Yes, kept safely in my coat right here" The Elven Woman tapped her left breast pocket.

"Good, write the letter tonight and send it to the Her Highness, we'll tell the Imperial Guard to let you through later"

"Let's pray, pray that the Goddess will answer our prayers for Her Highness's good health"

"Hail Her Highness!"

"Hail Her Highness!" Everyone else followed.

-----------

That same time.

A knock echoed throughout the grand space with luxuries spread in an orderly fashion, one a set of high quality armor and the next an ancient relic from a forgotten past, all that seemed reminiscent of an age of heroes and tall tales.

"I am entering now Your Highness" A mundane voice pierced the ears of the figure sat on a golden throne.

"How have you been Your Highness?"

Silence... 'This was futile' the man thought as he pushed up his round glasses and forced a smile on his face.

"I am here to report on the recent happenings in the Federation, please say something if you'd like to, I am all ears"

The man was met with silence from the monarch again, he who was appointed as Her Highness' personal messenger and courier could do nothing but just report in monotone as he was once again asked to do, it was his duty after all.

"The barbarians have been pushed back in a single day by the German Expeditionary Force, they are from a nation called Germany or the German Empire and was one of the nations within the transferred continent" As loud as he could he spoke, he checked for a reaction from the Queen but nothing, as still and yet as beautiful as a statue, one of the few lucky elves to see the Queen in all her beauty but not her majesty, it was heartbreaking for the elf, who had such high opinion of the Monarch when the King reigned, a distant past indeed.

"That was all, thank you for your attention Your Highness" He bowed and left, the Royal Guards just watched the pitiful display, day in and day out they just stood there and watched for over 10 thousand years, it felt like millions every day they spent in that room, like it was a room trapped in time where nothing happened,

They had to clean the throne room and would always persuade the Queen to go to her chambers, but she didn't listen, she was a dragon after all, one of the most powerful beings in Rutra, they had no power over her and they would just anger her if they pursued her.

Time moved slowly in the throne room, at least that's what it felt like, the infamous throne that defied time itself not in a literal sense, but it was undeniable that the day had turned night, where assassins prowl to take the Monarchs life, the Royal Guards stood there, vigilant as ever, the most loyal to the crown and Her Highness in a time where the Elders consider her as nothing more than a relic of an era gone by.

The Royal Guards stood stock still, not even the strongest wind could rock their bodies and resolve as strong as their mithril armor, an ore that was exclusive to this continent only and was mined in the great mountains due north-west of the land, one of the most rarest and most powerful ores anyone could find in the mountains where legends tell of a mine full of them when the lands were still fractured in many tribes.

All before the humans arrived.

"Your Highness, we should get you to bed, Her Highness have sat here for thousands of years, please retire to Her Highness's chambers" A butler spoke, he was one of few who had been appointed personally by the Queen before the death of the King, he was her most trusted, he was a familiar face in the throne room, one the Royal Guards would tease every time they met at the dining hall on their breaks, but this was a time of turbulence for the Queen.

"Sir Jois, I am terribly sorry but could I ask for your men to leave the room for a bit? I need to talk with her Highness privately" He was met with a firm nod, he whistled a tune and they all vacated the room, now it was the two of them, a servant and a monarch in a golden throne room.

"Your Highness, you must move on already, his Highness has passed away in battle, his Highness would have none to blame but the unfairness of the attackers, his Highness would not allow you to be like this, let alone for thousands of years, Your Highness, listen to me when I say that you mustn't let that tragic event dictate you, take control and move onwards, the Elders are driving this country to ruin and the Prime Minister is doing little to mitigate the crisis, we need Her Highness's strenght, lend us your Strength, My Queen" He pleads, his voice was aching, the trauma and the solutions he's offered did nothing, he needed to talk to her one on one, a serious conversation because if he didn't, outside forces beyond the nations strength would take control.

He was sure he was making the right decision in this situation.

But alas, the Queen did not budge, not a single hint of movement, not a twitch nor a change in her finger, she was a statue through and through.

"Haaah" He sighed, perhaps it was time to let the statue just be a statue, nothing more and nothing less.

"Thank you for your time Your Highness" He left the room with a bow, his footsteps were heavy as he dragged them across the red carpet, he had finally ran out of ideas.

"It's alright Nayr, you tried your best, we'll guard Her Highness for the rest of our lives, it may be futile to the outside eye but we feel fulfilled in doing what we love" The Servant named Nayr didn't feel better, but all this time he just didn't think of it like that, it might actually be better to let Her Highness sulk, let her catch her emotions, they may not know how long it'll take but its possible it would be a long time.

"Ye-" A loud boom was heard right inside the throne room.

A sense of dread and fear filled the air as they rush in.

They push the doors open and was shocked, the throne room was attacked!

The flapping of wings could be heard just outside, Sir Jois had already used transmutation magic to create a brick barrier from the gaping hole just beside the throne where the Queen sat, who was unhurt and unfazed.

"HOW THE FUCK DID A WYVERN GET IN HERE?" Jois couldn't help but yell out, A Wyvern that was abnormally large had created a huge gaping hole in the Castle, there should've been air defenses at the ready 24/7 but they were mysteriously unmanned.

"Pou and Jughes cast Gravitas!" Jois shouted, the two who were called chanted at the same time while pointing at the wyvern with the palm of their hands, suddenly with a loud screech the Wyvern was gone.

"Help me with Transmutatio Nayr, we need to fix this wall"

"Right! Ah uhm, we don't have any stone left"

"Just use Aurum, its for protecting the Queen so noone would care about the law"

Nayr puts his hand up and chanted in his mind.

'Transmutatio! Aurum fiat ex metallis!'

A pile of shining gold filled the side of the wall, Sir Jois used the lumps of gold and turned it into a sort of clay with Transmutatio.

"Lias help Nayr with the wall"

Sanctum had already been placed on the Queen so he didn't have to worry about her, now next on the list was.

"I want knights and riflemen to find that fucking wyvern! Don't let them escape!"

The following day would be a dark one, this was the first time ever since the Civil war was a Monarch attacked in the Castle.

By now it had turned to the next day, not an wink of sleep was given to the already tired Royal Guards, the ones that were supposed to change them had been poisoned by someone within, they didn't let anyone in nor out.

---------

The Grand Assembly Palace. One of the most important buildings in the Federation, it houses the parliament of the nation as a safeguard of democracy in the continent.

It was a building befitting of the name Grand Assembly Palace, it was a building 6 stories tall and had a space as wide as a football stadium making this the third largest building in the Grand Elven Federation of Meriavel, flags of the nation and the 12 states fluttered around it and guards could be seen patrolling everywhere.

This was where this story was making a turn.

Was it for the better or for the worse? Only the Author knows.

"This is a dark time for the Federation! We are already under attack by the bandits east but when things have finally started to brighten up with the assistance of the Demon Lord and his fellows and the nation of Germany we have been attacked from where it hurts, Her Highness, thank the Goddess, was unscathed, the perpetrator messed up any identifying features during his arrest by the Royal Guards" An Elven man spoke in a booming voice as his voice was heard throughout the building thanks to the speakers.

He took a sip from his cup of water and adjusted himself to speak into the microphone again.

"But not to worry! Through our efforts in diplomacy Lord Hiuya will send more troops to aid us! Our great nation may be weak when disjointed, unfocused and divided, but together we shall stand strong! The King who sits with our Goddess in heaven has told us so!"

"I propose the disbandment of the Elders Assistive Administration and the laws that nullify the Queens Political Power! Our Queen is the Dragon Monarch, a legend of legends and yet we impose ourselves on Her Highness? Have some shame!"

"None is above the law! This is outrageous Honorable Speaker" A member of the Democratic Coalition Party spoke, his tone was annoyed and his face was of pure anger, this was of course the party where the King had once been but it had changed so much even if the King was alive he would barely recognize it, they were essentially the separatists of the Monarchist Party Jonis was leading.

"Please be silent Honorable Member Yaris, please continue Honorable Member Jonis" The Speaker interjected, this was one of many times where this has happened.

"Thank you your Honor, friends and comrades! Heed my words when I say that we should make the Queen be Queen again!"

Suddenly there was shouting from the Democratic Side from the statement made on the podium as hundreds shouted against the proposition.

"Her Highness isn't mentally fit to run a country right now! She can't even move a finger how do you think she would lead the Federation anyways?" One of the members of the Democrats shouted

"Yeah! What's the point of letting Her Highness lead again? You are exposing your harmful ideas to the uninformed masses! You are a plague!"

"You shout fantasies you sheltered brat! You can't comprehend the basic idea of why the Queen is being put under such restrictions, you should shut up and let the adults do the talking!" This time an older member of the democratic party yelled out in frustration.

"Order! Order!" Three smacks on the sound block with his gavel as the Judge called for order in the building.

It would take 10 more minutes before the fighting would stop, just your average day in Federation Politics.

"We have covered a lot today, we will take a momentary break for 20 minutes, please come back later"

--------

It was now late into the night, as the common people who lived in the capital went to sleep it was now time for the scum of the Federation to get out of their dark homes.

Criminals ran rampant again and the Police could only deploy so much, the Military Police was forced to step in to assist.

Soon there was bloodshed as the homeless who have been starved for days attacked each other, they were all mad, but it wouldn't be reported in the morning news as it was just a daily occurrence.

"When will we prosper?" Nayr spoke to no-one but himself, alone in the cold night with his eyes wandering deep into the various buildings surrounding the Castle walls, it was as always a different city in the night.

"Is something wrong Sir Nayr? You seem distraught?"

"Ah it's nothing, please don't mind me"

"As you wish"

The Butler let out a long sigh once the guard left, it was another mundane night for him and the others.

Footsteps echoing in the background, he paid no attention to it, he didn't have the energy afterall

"How are you in this fine evening Sir Nayr?" He was familiar with this voice, the voice of a seductress, she thrives in the battlefield as the Fearsome Angel nested on the King of Undeads shoulder.

"I've been swell Madam Opi, how has Madam Opi been? It's been a long time since the Demon Realm and my Nation collaborated huh?"

"Indeed it has, ever since your Civil War, the Elf side of the world hasn't been the same, how have the kids been? Have they found work?"

"They're fine but they can't find a job that doesn't involve swinging a sword or firing a rifle, thanks for asking"

"Well it is a tough time for the Federation" The Lady of Crows, Opi comments with Nayr still paying no mind to the powerful entity beside him.

A minute had passed, Opi wondered where Nayr's energy gone? There would always be a snarky remark or rebuttal if she spoke ill of the federation or the Queen, but he just let his mind wandered.

"Is the Queen still sat there?" She asked, trying to break the awkward silence between the two

"Yup, I've tried everything all these years but she won't budge, I pray to the Goddess that she finds help soon" The butler said defeatedly, he knows just how useful he is and this was obviously way out of his league.

"....We need her after all" A moment of silence filled the air again when Nayr leaned forward abit more, it was freezing but the cold didn't bother him.

Opi could only feel bad for the butler, she and him had spent time in each others company when the Federation was still a lively and magical place to be, maybe isolating the demon realm was a terrible idea after all, if it wasn't for Master Falmus she wouldn't be standing here with Nayr drunk on depression right now.

The dire situation of the continent the Dragon Monarch lived in was continuing to deteriorate, her predictions were off by a large margin, in fact she was unsure if the Queen would actually fight again.

Opi, the Lady of Crows and Darkness, a person who was once just an ordinary crow picked up by the daughter of her Creator, Lord Hiuya was feeling.... unease, at the sight of Nayr miserable state, he had always tried to be witty with the terrible jokes he'd make in the presence of Lord Falmus.

"I can probably ask Lord Hiuya to console Her Highness" But before Pois could answer she immediately puts her hand on her ear, it was a sign of someone talking directly to her brain, a form of magic exclusive to the demons just like Necromancy and other forms of Dark Arts

"I gotta go now, good luck with your Queen Sir Nayr!" As swift as a bird she flew away, now it was just Pois on this lonely and cold night.

Another day had passed since then.

News about the German deployment had reached the ears of every corner of the world, news about the great elven federation of Meriavel's involvement and status as the first country to make contact with the transported continent.

It was on this day that the Empire would plan something devious.

"How many have we deployed?" An old man spoke with a voice of royalty, a high and mighty and pompous tone of voice, a finely furnished crown nested atop his white balding head, as he watched the interactive map twirling his long white beard.

"We have deployed 50,000 men Your Majesty, we expect a heavy German and Meriavelan response to it but we have a thousand wyvern lords and five thousand wyverns on standby just in case."

"I've heard about the Floating Fortresses, are they actually real? What should we do if they actually have something like that?"

Silence.

The Generals themselves weren't sure of the reports released by their spies and the official Federation announcements, but if it was actually true, then what about those huge golems? It would destroy their plan.

"We.... are sure it's just propaganda!" A General tried to break the silence, of course they would send the barbarians and the criminals in first just in case, but the stories about the destruction the Floating Fortresses could cause.

"The fortresses.. it could be directed at us if we act so brashly..." Another General said in a whisper, but just as he said it the room became silent, the Emperor and everyone else just looked at the General with nervous eyes.

But the Emperor, who had already lived past 90 didn't want to see the demis still alive, they who are thriving in a world dominated by humans, on their side of the continent aswell.

Hatred for the demis, this was the teachings the Holy Church had engraved on the Emperors mind.

"I will not allow it! We must succeed! The Empire has always been the shield of Humanity and we must not let the demi-humans reproduce anymore! Send 200,000 knights and at least 50,000 riflemen, our dreadnoughts shall encompass the Continent and block their trades to the outside, none shall interfere in our Grand Plan! Do it immediately!" The Emperor spoke.

This sent alarm bells ringing in the Generals, most of whom were confident in the information the spies had given to them, but for some reason the Emperor decides to ignore such crucial information.

The firepower of the Floating Fortresses, as legendary as the Dragon Monarch and the Demon Lord Hiuya, tales of legend that could destroy entire nations in a day, maybe even continents if they teamed up.

"We mustn't be hasty your Majesty! Please, we must revise our plan, give us a year and we will have a grander army ready for you"

"Yes Your Majesty! The hare may be fast but is also hasty whilst the turtle is slow but cautious, we mustn't provoke the Germans if they are in possession of such magical technologies"

The Emperor was in a thinking position, he hung his head high and looked up at the ceiling, he closed his eyes a moment then opened it immediately.

"Hmph Fine! We shall wait one more year, this meeting is adjourned!" The Generals were relieved.
