So cold and ruthless

Quinn, " ..."

She almost laughed out loud. Why was it that when it came to her she would unwittingly attract trouble? Was the word good-tempered written on her forehead or something?

Quinn didn't try to be friendly anymore she grabbed a finance magazine from the small table near her and the beautiful woman glanced at her from the corner of her eye and snorted coldly.

Quinn pressed the tip of her tongue on her canine tooth suppressing the seething anger wailing up within her. Would she be able to understand the articles in the magazine? Probably not but that didn't mean she appreciated being looked down on.

The secretary who had been sitting on her desk furthest away from them walked over and said, "Miss Feral, the president will see you now."

The young woman smiled brightly with a hint of smugness in her gorgeous eyes before following the secretary.

She pressed her fingerprint on the door and with a click it opened before the young woman walked into the office.

The secretary turned to Quinn and smiled slightly before sitting back down. Quinn had seen her yesterday. She was the one who had delivered the contract into Leif's hands.

Quinn smiled back and lowered her head opening the magazine. After flipping two pages she was met with Leif's striking face and cold eyes which almost scared her half to death.

She hoped things would work out between him and miss independent who walked in just now because she didn't feel like facing that cold face every day.

Well, she was right about one thing. Miss Feral was indeed interested in Leif but as a dignified gracious lady, she wouldn't do anything that would come across as desperate.

She walked over to the man sitting in front of a high-end desk with a stern expression seeming focused on what he was working on.

He had his thumb resting on his chin exuding a god-like aura making it difficult for anyone to disturb him. Miss Feral hesitated to speak but she didn't forget the reason she was here.

"Leif, I brought over the signed partnership contract," she said her voice as entrancing as that of sirens luring men into doing their bidding all except one man.

Leif didn't even raise his head as he replied, "Miss Feral needs not to bring it in person and... since we aren't on a first name basis please address me appropriately."

Not on a first name basis? Wow. Despite knowing each other for six years and doing business together for two he still treated her like a stranger.

She had been trying to break the barrier between them for years but he still kept her at arm's length which was incredibly frustrating.

She had tried being flirty, texting him often, asking him out and even deliberately getting drunk in his presence but all she got was a bloody hangover and a throbbing ache in her shoulder after she fell. When she tried to fall into his arms he subconsciously dodged and she fell straight to the ground.

it was no secret that Leif wasn't kind to the fairer sex but she thought she was different. Unfortunately not, she was no different from the receptionist at the main entrance of the company.

She didn't want to hang herself on this one tree but she couldn't extricate herself. Even when she heard that the princess of the Bach family had also started to aggressively pursue him she didn't give up. In fact, she turned to scheming against Alison.

She heard from her mother's book club that Leif's mother kept mentioning marriage and that he might be forced to get a wife soon.

Thinking she could eliminate the competition and become the only woman next to Leif she deliberately planted the idea that Leif had a new fling in Alison's mind thus Alison reacted even better than she expected.

Alison broke into Leif's home giving off stalkerish vibes. With Leif's experience with his crazy mother, he wouldn't want a wife who was just as crazy as her .

The result was as she wanted. Alison was out of the picture but she didn't count on an anomaly and that anomaly was the muscle Alison hooked into this mess that is Quinn.

They had never met nor did they run in the same circles. In fact, when she found out who Alison broke into Leif's mansion with she dug up some information.

There was nothing special about her except who her grandfather was before he died. She initially thought Leif would make her disappear but who would have thought this street rat would cheat death and not only that but meet up with Leif more times in a week than she had in months.

She was curious about her but at this moment she could care less as there were more important matters at hand.

Leif's mother paid him a visit yesterday and she could only guess it was to urge him to get married thus she came over to brush some goodwill and give him an offer.

Leif finally raised his head and tapped his desk. Miss Feral placed the envelope on the desk and Leif pulled the papers out and began to go through it.

Two minutes later Leif realised she was still standing there so he asked, "Is there anything else?"

Miss Feral, "..."

So cold and ruthless. Did he have anyone in his eyes? She clenched her fist tightly till her knuckles turned white but she soon calm her mind and relaxed her fingers as she said, "I have an offer for you."

Leif who thought it had something to do with work leaned back in his seat and said, "Speak."

Miss Feral smiled slightly and said, "How about we get married so both of us can have our parents off our backs? I heard your grandfather's will is breathing down your neck. My mother has been chasing me around about marriage. Since we are both busy people with no time to date. We are most suitable for each other."

It sounded reasonable but Leif didn't take the bait. In fact, he said, "What makes you think I have no candidate in mind?"

Miss Feral who didn't expect that took a step back as her heart sank to the pit of her stomach. Forced to maintain her composure she swallowed down her emotions and said, "I understand."
