Suckered Into Marrying My Scheming Lackey

Love Questionnaire: What would you do if you get caught breaking into a cold and arrogant billionaire's mansion?... What if that said billionaire also happens to be your lackey from high school and you don't even recall them? Better yet what if that said billionaire sets a marriage contract on the table and demands that you sign it? Quinn: Hahaha, What stupid questions. Who came up with these? That would never happen to me. A few hours later Quinn: You @%!^%##, you set me up.

First fight*

Meanwhile, Leif shut the door to his bedroom and tugged at his collar his eyes a few degrees chiller. He took off his clothes in a haste and got into the shower scrubbing every inch of his skin.

Images of what happened just now replayed in his mind over and over again making him feel even worse. He was slowly descending into a panic mood when his fingers slid past the place those lips had touched. Ever since he stepped into the shower he had not touched his cheek, the one place he should have been cleaning he ignored.

His heart suddenly beat a little faster than usual making him think he was very sick. By the time he came down from his bedroom, there was a mouthwatering aroma of food.

Leif entered the kitchen and saw her slaving away. His arms crossed on his chest he said, "I didn't think you would be good at cooking."

Quinn didn't feel like talking to him right now. She knew she should not care so much but she was so annoyed that she could not help it.

"Dinner will be ready soon. Just wait for me in the lounge," she said and Leif could sense something was off.

He just uttered a cold, "En," before walking away. Quinn sneered internally and when she was done she still seemed more silent than usual. When she walked over there with two dinner plates Leif didn't even turn his head to look at her so she didn't say anything and started eating.

When Leif came out of his stupor he noticed that Quinn had already started eating and ate half of her dinner already.

He got up and sat down his appetite somehow gone. The two of them ate silently one eating and the other barely taking a bite. Maybe Quinn just wanted an apology or something? She had put in the effort to convince Athen that their relationship was not fake but Leif didn't say a word but ran to a shower because he disliked it and found it disgusting.

Just the thought of it made her very angry that when she got up she said, "If you aren't going to eat it then don't play with it."

By the time Leif realised what was going on his plate was gone and so was Quinn. Thinking she could eat it for breakfast tomorrow, she packed it away in a lunch box and placed it in the fridge. She was about to clear up the dishes but he walked over and said, "I will do it." Quinn didn't insist on it. She turned to leave heading to her guest bedroom.

Leif glanced at her leaving back feeling complicated. He felt like he should have said something but he didn't know what to say so he carried on. Just like that these two people silently went back to their rooms and slept without even saying a word to each other.

Quinn swiped her cell phone open looking for someone to talk to but after scrolling up and down for a minute she found there was no one worth her trust enough to expose such things. Left with no choice she went to a relationship forum and posted anonymously.

Anonymous10272: Help. My boss is so cold to me. I kissed him on the cheek and he was cold and indifferent and didn't even eat the food I made. Urgent, waiting online.

Quinn wasn't wrong. They were indeed boss and employee but the problem was that her statement didn't describe her situation accurately thus the responses were as expected.

Reply: I am surprised he hasn't fired you yet.

Reply: Sexual harassment works both ways.

Reply: And you still have a job?

Quinn, "..."

Realising how the post sounded she deleted it and wrote another post. This time it wasn't as easy to write as the first. She had to think it through seriously.

Anonymous10272: Help. I kissed my fiance's cheek in front of his mother and he quickly took a shower afterwards and didn't even eat what I made. What should I do? Urgent. Waiting online.

This time the responses weren't scolding her but Leif.

Reply: Don't marry him. He is scum.

Reply: He is definitely not interested in you. Run bitch run!

Reply: Then let him starve that ungrateful bastard.

Reply: The words of the greats singer of all time. If that boy doesn't love you by now.  He will never ever never ever love you. Take her advice and pack your shit.

Quinn, "..."

She tossed her cell phone angrily before switching on the bedside lamp. She closed her eyes and quickly fell back to sleep not even noticing a shadow of two pairs of feet underneath her door that disappeared after a good while.

When she woke up Quinn's mood had improved greatly. She woke up later than usual and hummed a typical 'f everything' type of song as she did her full skincare routine in the bathroom. She took a nice long shower that by the time she was done she looked like a cooked lobster.

Thinking of her leftovers last night she went downstairs and found that the place was unusually silent. It seemed Leif left early without saying a word.

Quinn didn't care at all. In fact, this was good. She didn't want to be around his cold face anyway.

She opened the fridge and lo and behold her lunchbox was gone. All of it. The food last night tasted so good and the steak was done to perfection. Quinn opened and closed the fridge several times but that didn't change a thing. There was no food. It was all gone.

Mumbling angrily she opened the bin and checked inside for evidence but there was nothing. It was as though it had vanished into thin air overnight. Well, an airtight container filled with food couldn't grow legs and leave by itself right?

She took out her cell phone and messaged the only other person who could know who ate the food.

QQ: Where are the leftovers from last night?
