Patience

It was midnight as the two faced off against each other, the moon and stars shone above them and a cold breeze passed through the field they were standing in. Just in front of Heheegaboo's house.

Jason unsheathed his sword cringing as Heheegaboo swung his bladed chain around in a tight circle.

He turned to Rocky and the rest of the gang members.

"stand down, ill take care of him"

Jason needed to subdue Heheegaboo, which was going to be much harder than simply defeating him.

A deep breath escaped from his lips and he launched forward. His sword reached out covered in blue light.

[5th form]

A red glow surrounded Jason and he could feel all of his senses sharpen. Everything seemed to slow down ever so slightly.

Heheegaboo let out a grunt and raised his right hand throwing out one of the chains at him, the curved sword heading straight towards Jason.

Jason dropped himself to the floor, putting one of his hands in front of his chest to prop himself up as the chain sickle whizzed above him.

Heheegaboo pulled back with the chain, the curved blade at the end stopped its path forward and slowly moved back its blade cutting through the ground like a knife in butter heading straight towards Jason.

Jason lifted up his left hand, as he was on the floor, barely propping himself up. His sword in his left hand collided with the curved blade in a clash of sparks.

The curved blade stopped dead in its tracks and the chains tightened as Heheegaboo strained to pull the weapon and Jason held it locked.

Jason turned to face Heheegaboo, with one hand he was pulling hard on the chain that was locked in Jason's sword, and with the other, he was spinning the other chain gathering momentum and power.

A grin passed Jason's face.

[2nd form]

The aura around Jason's body disappeared and instead refocused on his legs and arms.

Jason leapt off the ground leaving a large cloud of dirt and dust in the air. Dashing towards Heheegaboo. The chain sickle with no sword stopping its path flew back towards Heheegaboo.

He stretched out his hand and the blade flew neatly into his hand. With his other hand, he threw the second chain blade at Jason's approaching figure.

Jason's eyes glimmered when he saw the blade approaching him. He vaulted up from the ground, like a gymnast doing a flip leaping over the blade that flew underneath him in a terrible whoosh.

Jason resumed his charge towards Heheegaboo, he had retreated far away, but now he was only 20 meters away.

Heheegaboo realizing he missed yanked back with his chain while he held the first blade chain in his hand, waiting for Jason's approach.

In two leaps Jason crossed the area raising his sword up high above his head.

[1st form]

Jason swung down with his sword a red aura coating it a loud crash and sparks were the only thing that could be seen in the large dust cloud they had mixed up and of course the moonlight reflecting off of Jason's sword.

Heheegaboo only had enough time to hold out his bladed sickle as the impact of the sword pushed him down to his very knees.

Both of the fighters grit their teeth as one fell kneeling, but still holding his weapon up, while the other pressed down with his sword.

Jason put more strength into his push, the blade of the sword getting closer and closer to Heheegaboo's face.

"give up," Jason said while gritting his teeth. "we just want to talk"

Heheegaboo didn't answer instead grunting out-loud as he struggled against Jason's overwhelming strength.

But a twinkle appeared in Heheegaboo's eyes even as he faced this impossible struggle.

Jason looked at that questioningly and then widened his eyes suddenly

[6th form]

The red aura still covered Jason's sword, but this time it didn't make it stronger or faster. It made it more flexible and light.

Jason pushed his sword angle back, moving forward a bit while the sword fell more parallel to the ground.

The second chain blade flew from behind Jason, hitting the very tip of Jason's hilt in a loud clang and then falling to the ground harmless.

Heheegaboo's eyes widened and an expression of confusion and bewilderment covered his face.

"h-how" he muttered as Jason pressed his sword down until he was almost on the verge of losing.

Jason smiled in response

"I have a good partner"

Boops inside Jason's headspace, let out the smuggest noise ever known to mankind.

Jason looked at Heheegaboo in the eye. "look I can kill you right now, but I'm not, because I want to talk, are you finally ready to talk?"

Heheegaboo looked at his surroundings, one of his bladed chains was on the ground, and the other one was in a hard-pressed spot with every second it getting worse for him. He had no men, he just simply had a bit of money that he shared. Why was a ripper gang member going after him? he wasn't even trying to take part in any gang-related war, he only joined because of the promise of safety.

Heheegaboo nodded slowly and let the pressure of his chained blade go, letting it fall to the floor.

Jason also retracted his sword after watching Heheegaboo drop his weapons, with a heavy sigh his stabbed his sword into the ground and sat down crosslegged with Heheegaboo.

"can we talk now," Jason said raising an eyebrow.

Heheegaboo nodded meekly.

"great," Jason said pulling out snacks from his inventory.

Some beef jerky, fried fish, and water were placed down in front of them Heheegaboo in amazement looked at the steam coming off the fried fish, he watched Jason pick up one and eat it with gusto.

After watching Jason eat for a bit, he picked up a piece of beef jerky and gingerly nibbled on it.

His eyes widened.

"This is good!"

Jason let out a smug smile and waited for Heheegaboo to finish eating.

After they had their little meal. Jason started to talk.

"look Mr. Heheegaboo, I need to ask you a few questions, they may be a bit uncomfortable, but I need you to answer them"

Heheegaboo nodded nervously

"what do you think of your younger brothers actions"

Heheegaboo instantly stood up and shouted out in a fury.

"THOSE MONSTERS?! THOSE PEOPLE ARE NOT MY BROTHERS, THEY ARE THE SCUM OF THE EARTH, THEY TAKE THEIR AUTHORITY AND PLAY AROUND FREELY WITH IT, MAKING THEIR PEOPLE MISERABLE, WHAT KIND OF IMMATURE, EVIL SHORTSIGHTED, IDIOTIC..."

Heheegaboo suddenly realized the outburst that he was making in front of Jason and quickly sat down.

Jason watched Heheegaboo's rant with cold eyes. He looked to Boops in his mind space.

"so?"

Boops replied

'i didn't see any signs of lying, no abnormal things, no shifty eyes, different blink rate, head tilting, or any of that. But then again he could just be a great liar.'

Jason thought for a moment.

"I guess we can try it out, even if he is a lier we can still use him"

Jason put his elbow onto his sword and looked at Heheegaboo.

"Mr Heheegaboo, I'm not sure if you're lying, and frankly I don't care if you are, but I am now offering you a proposition. You are a ripper leader, or at least you have been labeled as one because of your huge influence and money, you even have control of a territory, if you serve under Jack, you can retain everything that you have, in exchange that you help us when we need it."

Heheegaboo looked at Jason.

"you're asking me to serve under somebody else?"

Jason nodded and responded

"he won't interfere with what you're doing, as long as it's nothing too bad."

Heheegaboo looked at Jason confused

"What happens if I refuse?"

Jason smiled in response.

"your brothers, their territories and assets have been seized just today, their territories are now ruled by close associates of Jack."

Heheegaboo lowered his voice

"Are you threatening me?"

Jason replied

"I'm giving you a chance"

Heheegaboo looked at Jason one more time. And after a few minutes of thinking, he stood up and bowed to Jason.

"I am thankful that you have gotten rid of those horrible monsters, for that I am eternally grateful, you did something that I couldn't do. I'm not a good person, but I'm glad that you rid the world of those monsters, I will join Jack"

"besides" he added with a small smirk

"I don't really have a choice"

Jason grinned as Heheegaboo rose up giving Jason a small bow.

Boops let out an amazed voice

'ohh, he shows his true colors'

Jason stood up pulling his sword out of the ground in a quick tug.

"Alright, Heheegaboo, your first job is to increase Jack's reputation, you seem very skilled in that aspect so I want you to raise his reputation to the point where everyone has heard of him"

Heheegaboo nodded his eyes shifting as he calculated furiously.

Jason looked at the notifications which came flooding in.

[you have defeated Heheegaboo]

[you have gained the skill (whirlwind blade)]

[you have recruited Heheegaboo under Jack's control]

[Jack has gained control of Heheegaboo territory]

[Jack has gained control of 3 new gang territories in Herdita]

[Jack's intelligence, power, and charisma has increased]

With a loud sigh, Jason turned back to the rest of the group which was waiting for him, with excited and worshiping expressions as he returned. Jason's points increased heavily for a bit as the reaper gang members and Rocky witnessed Jason's agility and strength.

"haa" Jason said as they walked down the streets with the moon shining bright above them. "it's finally over"

Boy was he wrong.
