Chapter 14 She's back

"What are you looking at? Is there something wrong with the dress?" Laura asked him.

"No no, it's perfect. It's just that, you look gorgeous in this dress " he said to her.

"Really? Thank you " Laura said trying to hide her blushing face.

Jason have seen this dress on Laura before but he didn't pay much attention to it back then. He just couldn't take his eyes off her.

The dress outlines her shape and shows her beautiful legs and boobs.

"Has she always been this beautiful?" Jason thought.

"Uhh uhh," Jason cleared his throat. "Let's go," he said to her when the driver opened the door for them.

"Okay," Laura said before entering the car and Jason followed her.

When they finally got to the party, the driver opened the door for them to come out but Jason noticed that Laura looks nervous.

"Are you okay?" Jason asked her. Laura answered nodding her head.

"It's okay to be anxious, it's your first time coming to this kind of party. Everything will be fine trust me " he said looking into her eyes.

Laura nodded feeling confident with his words.

"Listen, there are reporters outside you just have to follow my lead and everything will be fine. okay," Jason said to her before going out of the car.

The moment he steps out the reporters turned their way taking pictures but the security blocked them from coming closer.

They were surprised as to why he was still standing there looking inside the car.

"Did he bring a date? " One of the reporters asked the other one.

"Let's wait and find out" the other one replied.

Laura came out of the car and the scene that welcome her was surprising. Cameras were everywhere. Seeing the scene, Jason pulled her close to himself.

"Who is she? Is she your girlfriend? How did you two meet?" Questions were coming from different directions but Jason didn't answer them as he walked straight with Laura in his arms while the security clears the way for them.

When they got away from the reporters, Jason said to one of the men.

"I don't want to see any of these in tomorrow's papers".

"Yes, boss" the man replied.

Laura looked at them wondering what they were talking about.

"Let's go," Jason said taking her hand.

Laura followed him inside. She was amazed at the glamorous decorations.

"So, this is what rich people's parties look like," she said to herself.

The music was great and everyone was well dressed

"I bet their clothes cost a fortune" Laura kept mumbling to herself when she heard a familiar voice calling her name.

"You made it. I thought you were not coming" Mrs Hughes said hugging Laura.

"Oh my goodness you look amazing, she said looking at Laura.

"Thank you, Laura said to her.

"No need for formalities let's go inside", she said taking Laura's hands. She started discussing with Laura excitedly not even sparing a glance at Jason.

Jason was surprised by his mom's change of attitude. Normally she wouldn't let him be alone always sticking with him at parties trying to get him to talk to girls.

" Why didn't she just look at me once? Women and their dramas " Jason wondered to himself.

He felt left out with the two ladies chatting happily in front of him.

"I need a drink", he said to himself before walking to a waiter to grab a drink.

"Who do we have here?" Jason heard someone say from the side.

"Oh Mr Finn I didn't expect to see you here", Jason said to him.

"Well you know business and other things " Mr Finn replied.

"Okay, I see " Jason answer before walking away from him.

"That boy is always so arrogant. Wait and see what I will do to you " Mr Finn said looking at Jason angrily.

Jason took out his phone to make a call.

"He's here I need you to keep a close watch on him", Jason said before ending the call.

He looked around to see where Laura and his mother were when he saw them and went to meet them.

"Who is this beautiful girl here?" A woman said when she walked up to Laura and Jason's mom.

"Oh, this is Laura Laura meet Victoria my elder sister " Mrs Hughes introduced them

"Nice to meet you, ma'am, Laura said.

"The pleasure is all mine" Victoria replied before dragging her sister to the side.

"What are you planning Gloria", Victoria asked calling her by her maiden name.

"The usual. Finding a girl for Jason" she replied.

"What about Aria?" Victoria asked her.

" What about her And why are you bringing her up all of a sudden?" Mrs Hughes asked getting irritated.

"She's back," Victoria told her.

"How is that my concern, she made her decision long ago" Mrs Hughes said

"Gloria, she's here ".

"What? How can you invite her when you know what happened between them?" Mrs . Hughes was angry.

At the same time, Jason walked up to Laura who was drinking.

"What are you doing here alone? Where's my mom?" Jason asked her.

"She's over there " Laura replied pointing to where his mom was standing.

"Oh I see", Jason said looking at Laura.

"Don't drink too much you know you can't handle your drink" Jason said to her.

" I know I don't plan on drinking much " she replied.

While they were talking a lady walked up to them and hugs Jason. But he didn't hug her back.

Laura was surprised to see the scene before her

"Wow, she's beautiful. Is she his girlfriend? But I thought he doesn't have a girlfriend" Laura thought to herself.

" what do you think you're doing?" Jason said breaking the hug.

"Nothing. I just missed you that's all" she replied.

"A..ria", he said stressing the name.

"Wow, my name still sounds beautiful in your mouth", she said happily.

"What? What kind of stupid girl is this? Can't she tell that, he's irritated by her? Huh." Laura wondered.

"Can we talk?" Aria asked.

"No, so can you leave my sight now?" Jason tried to hold his anger

"No, I'm not going anywhere until we talk" she insisted.

"Too bad for you, 'cause I don't want to see your face, Jason said coldly to her.

"Let's go, she said taking Laura's hand.

Aria followed them outside and she grabbed Jason's hand to stop him but, she got scared by the look Jason gave her.

"You can't just ignore me because of this thing", she said looking down at Laura.

" Who is she calling a thing?" Laura wanted to retaliate but was interrupted with a slap.

"How dare you.." Aria couldn't finish her statement when she saw who slapped her.

"Mo..mom?"

"Don't call me your mom with our dirty mouth " Mrs Hughes was angry.

"She's not worth it," Jason said to his mom. "I think we should leave first 'cause this party just got sucks", Jason said looking at Aria.

"Yes, I think I should also leave. I don't want to stay here for another minute" Mrs Hughes said taking Laura's hands before walking out.

The journey back was awkward with Jason looking angry.

"I need a drink", Jason said the moment they stepped into the house.

" What's his problem" Laura wondered.
