Even upon trying to start the car with the starter several times, the car's engines only lasted for a second at most before dying.

'Why did it have to be now of all times?!' Malachi cried mentally as his palms started to sweat more.

It was obvious something was wrong with the car, and seeing as it failed to start despite his effort, Malachi knew leaving his current surroundings at the moment was a pipe dream.
