Fu Lei didn't go to school for the morning. His parents wouldn't be home at noon and would usually eat in the school cafeteria during this time.
But now that he was at home, he had to fend for himself. Fu Lei dug out some things from the refrigerator, purchased two buns from a nearby store, and managed to settle his lunch, a situation which was quite common for him.
After a satisfying nap, Fu Lei slung his backpack over his shoulder and went to school, presenting his leave note to his homeroom teacher, who didn't say much. It wasn't the first time, and speaking would have been pointless.
Upon exiting the homeroom teacher's office, Fu Lei sat at his desk and zoned out. His deskmate only remarked, "Skipping class again," without any further conversation. Everyone had grown accustomed to Fu Lei's habitual truancy. Some even envied him for having legitimate leave notes written by his parents, something they'd never manage to get from their own.
