Chapter 8: Calling Your Bluff

"Weren't you supposed to go to Milan to see a fashion show with your besties? You're going to miss the plane if you don't leave now." Leo suddenly said to Molly.

"Burning bridges after crossing, how could you do this, Leo?" Molly pouted.

Leo blinked, saying nothing.

Molly huffed in anger, growing even more displeased with Sophia.

"Really not leaving?" Leo asked cheerfully, adding fuel to the fire.

Molly finally couldn't stand still. "My Little Red's tire was just punctured by this woman, how could I be in the mood to see any fashion show?"

"Oh, that's truly unfortunate!" Leo said calmly.

Molly, frustrated with Leo's indifferent response, was lost for words.

At this moment, a beautiful maid came to ask what they'd like to drink. Leo ordered a cup of Maojian tea, Molly wanted a cappuccino, and she said haughtily, "Lina, give Miss Sophia a cup of cappuccino as well. No need to spend time preparing other drinks to save time."

After speaking, she cast a meaningful glance at Lina.

Lina understood and left to fulfill the order.

Leo, flipping through the Global Economic Times, chuckled quietly. Silly Molly, she's no match for Sophia. Sophia will outsmart her yet again.

Soon, Lina brought the tea and coffee. She first went to Leo to place the tea down. Since Sophia was closer to Leo, Lina approached her next.

Without drawing attention, Sophia hooked a foot around a small stool nearby, moving it right in front of Lina who was about to take the coffee from the tray. Not expecting an obstacle, Lina stumbled slightly.

Fortunately, Lina had received professional training and quickly regained her balance, not spilling a drop of coffee. Although she felt something trip her, when she looked down, there was nothing there. Looking up at the two cups of coffee on the tray, something seemed off, but she couldn't identify what.

Molly, guilty and watchful, had her eyes glued to Lina and Sophia. Seeing Lina nearly fall, she was both annoyed and alarmed.

Luckily, Lina managed not to mess up and still placed the coffee steadily in front of Sophia.

Finally, Lina went to Molly, hinting with a glance that the task was complete. Molly picked up her coffee and signaled Lina to stand aside.

Behind the newspaper, the corners of Leo's mouth twitched upward. Pretending to be bitter yet enduring it, Sophia also wanted to laugh secretly.

Seeing Sophia manage to drink the bitter coffee without spitting it out, Molly was irked and looked questioningly at Lina. Lina appeared innocent; she had prepared a super bitter coffee for Miss Sophia.

"Miss Sophia, how was it? Isn't the coffee from the Leo household the best in the world, unforgettable for a lifetime?" Molly tried to provoke Sophia, not willing to give up.

Sophia was unapologetic, "Of course, this is the best cappuccino I've ever had." After saying this, she raised her eyebrows and lifted her coffee cup towards Molly.

Calling your bluff!

Molly gritted her teeth, yet maintained a smile, "Since it's so delicious, Miss Sophia, you drink it all. If it's not enough, I'll have the maid make you another."

I don't believe you can stand the bitterness, Molly thought to herself.

True to form, Sophia lifted the cup and drank it all down in one go.

Such bold drinking could make any other woman, no matter how elegantly they pretend, appear vulgar. But Sophia, with her efficient posture, drank leisurely and indifferently, as if everything was under her control.

She was a woman of immense confidence and self-respect. Leo glanced at her from the corner of his eye, showing a hint of admiration, but that was all.

Seeing Sophia actually finish the coffee, Molly interrogated the maid with her eyes. The maid looked innocent; she had tasted the coffee she poured out, and it was indeed extremely bitter.

Having no other option, Molly resigned herself but kept her gaze on Sophia, who seemed to be struggling to swallow.

You're tough to withstand that, Molly thought silently.

After a while, Molly felt thirsty and took a sip of her coffee.

"Ptui!" Molly spat out the coffee instantly, "Cough cough... cough cough..." She coughed violently, almost throwing up her last meal.

Even Sophia couldn't help but curl her lips into a smile at Molly's pathetic state. Looking up, she saw Leo watching her, a hint of mockery in his eyes as if he saw through her act.

Sophia bit her lip guiltily.

Realizing her mistake, Lina had already rushed to bring Molly some water and a few pieces of sugar. Once Molly finally managed to rid her mouth of the bitter taste, she raised her hand to hit Lina.
