Chapter 18: Leo, I Beg You

Jamie walked over to Leo and extended her arm as if it was only natural to link it through his. However, Leo did not accept her overture of affection and, without a change in his expression, shook off her hand. He turned his head to stare at her with a gaze that was both dangerous and ice-cold, causing Jamie to tremble inside, yet she still tried to maintain her composure, smiling at the reporters and the crowd present.

"CEO Leo was just joking with everyone," Jamie attempted to explain in a tactful manner, showcasing her upbringing and grace. "Because of my indiscretion, CEO Leo, in a moment of anger, brought that lady onto the stage. That lady also understood she wasn't suited to appear in public, hence she chose to flee the scene."

Then, Jamie, in an almost commanding tone, stated, "As per the old rules, please delete any photos of CEO Leo immediately. Tomorrow, whether online or in the newspapers, no reports about CEO Leo are allowed!" After saying this, she again boldly linked her arm with Leo's, signaling for him to leave the scene.

"CEO Leo, please forgive my presumption, but it seems this is the best course of action," Jamie whispered to Leo, though feeling uneasy inside, she still tried to maintain her calm on the surface.

Leo remained expressionless, but the chill emanating from his body made Jamie fearful. She had intended to create some ambiguous gestures by getting close to Leo, but now she didn't dare to make any rash moves.

Aisen, who witnessed all this, was shocked and opened his mouth in surprise. He also wondered what consequences Jamie's bold actions would bring upon her. After all, Leo was not someone who could be easily manipulated.

When the two reached the entrance, Leo finally shook off Jamie's hand, reaching his limit. He took off his coat and threw it to Kyle, who was following closely behind.

The little confidence Jamie had built up shattered the moment she saw Leo looking disgustedly at the sleeve she had touched. This action made Jamie realize that he was repulsed by her.

Suddenly, Leo quickened his pace, storming forward with a fierce demeanor. Jamie noticed his target was Sophia, the woman who had left him earlier. Standing beside a car, Sophia was quickly approached by Leo, who then grabbed her by the throat and harshly interrogated her, "Who gave you the audacity to humiliate me again?"

Sophia's face turned red, unable to speak. Leo continued to threaten, "You can go, but don't expect your brother to live. And you..."

Jamie witnessed this scene, terrified. She realized how terrifying this man could be. If she ever angered him, would he treat her the same way?

"Young Master, please calm down, she was chosen by the Old Master to be your fiancée. If anything happens to her, the Old Master won't be able to bear it..." Kyle bravely stepped forward to mediate.

"Shut up!" Leo's roar made Kyle stagger back, almost falling. He had never seen the young master so enraged.

"Leo, I beg you, I don't want to be on the media, don't want to be talked about. Just this once, I'll do whatever you say from now on!" Sophia finally found an opportunity to pry one of his fingers loose and squeezed out these words.

Outside the banquet hall, the security guards were powerless against the increasingly large crowd of journalists and spectators. The noise and shouting grew louder, indicating they were about to break through.

Kyle was extremely anxious; the turmoil in the banquet had barely settled down. If the journalists saw the young master in this state, the consequences would be unimaginable.

Fortunately, Leo finally let go of his grip. He pulled open the car door, roughly pulled Sophia into the car, and then sat in himself.

Kyle nearly cried with relief and hurried to the car, jumping into the driver's seat.

Jamie, somewhat reluctant, hesitated whether to follow them but saw the rear car window roll down, and Leo said coldly, "Get in as well!"

Jamie immediately lifted her dress and ran over, trying to sit in the passenger seat with as much grace as possible.

Before she could settle down, the car dashed off like an arrow. Jamie cried out in surprise and fell onto the seat, looking quite disheveled. She cast a blaming glance at Kyle, chiding him for not being considerate and gentle.

Kyle did not respond to her gaze. He had to drive fast, or those relentless paparazzi would catch up.

Even though Jamie eventually helped Leo out of a tight spot, Leo had previously given permission to take photos, and it's possible that some daring journalists might seize the opportunity to indeed take photos and post reports online.
