Chapter 3

They walked through the hall in silence as expected and each time he swung his arm forward, she caught a glimpse of a pistol tucked on his waistband.Maybe he wasn't too far gone and could be redeemed?

"You know,you don't have to live like this.Always in hiding and waiting for the moment your rivals strike, always watching your back.Kidnapping women and...and... you know."Sunny looked up to see if her hanging statement clicked a point home.

"Oh I wasn't kidnapped and forcefully recruited here if that's what you're thinking."He didn't say anymore.Sunny almost smiled when a light shone on some steps ahead that she knew without doubt led to her freedom.

But Lion guided her around a left turn before they got to the steps.Her rising spirit went back down and fake pain stopped.She didn't even realize when she stopped limping.

"Where are we going?I need to get myself checked!"Sunny claimed in a slightly raised voice.

"I heard you the first time.I am taking you to the resident doctor here."Lion replied infuriatingly calm.His calmness grated at her nerves and she wasn't sure why, probably hormones reaction.

Sunny looked back at the hallway to her freedom until they took another turn.It led directly into a room ,not upto date but fully equipped for any medical emergency.She felt her hope dim as she was led further into the room.

"Lion...and you must be Sunny.I've heard quite a lot about you."The lady doctor looked up at Lion then back to Sunny."What I've heard do you no justice.You're lovely."Sunny's heart almost stopped.Lady doctor was the first person she'd met in the basement that was genuinely nice so far.And she was beautiful.Perfect tan skin and jet black straight hair that stopped just inches from her bottom.It was split at the center, simple but classy."I'm Anne bytheway."And judging by her freedom of speech ,she had some authority at the basement.

"Just sit up here,hold your dress upto your waist then lay back."Anne instructed ignoring Lion's dominating presence.But Sunny was too aware of his presence that she hadn't said a word all that while.And if Anne expected her to sit on the examination table,she would be sorely disappointed.

A full minute and Sunny hadn't moved,Anne shot Lion a look basically ordering him out but he didn't budge either.

"Alright, let's get this over with."Anne moved to help Sunny onto her work station so Sunny was left without a choice.

The next ten minutes or so felt like ten hours under Lion's very watchful eyes.

Instead of holding her dress up ,Anne opted for unbuttoning the front buttons on her dress upto her mid section.That left her braless burst partially exposed and Lion's heated gaze never left her.Sunny didn't know which one she preferred,Lion's eyes on her ample chest or on her sex area that he already had a sneak review of.Technically,he had seen all of her naked now.

Anne did a couple of tests noting down the results then finally did ultrasound.

"What's the problem?"Lion asked when Anne was finally done.Sunny took advantage of Lion's distraction to button up.

"The baby seems perfectly fine to me.But Sunny could use some fresh air."

"It's too dangerous out there..."

"That was a doctor's directive,bro."

After going up the steps and coming out into a manned tent,Sunny finally breathed some longed for fresh air into the chilly night.There were several tents surrounding the main which housed the steps down the basement.

Sunny didn't mind the cold as her mind raced sweeping around her for an escape route.There was only too loud cricket noises and vast land as far as her eyes could see in the dark.She was in the middle of nowhere...

"You good now?"Lion asked still beside her.Another guard had joined them and stood a few feet from them gun drawn so no,she wasn't good yet.She needed a better a better plan.

But it was so hard having a solid plan without a way to know when it's night or day while down there.Lion didn't wait for an answer as he grasped Sunny's upper arm and led her back.He lingered back into the tent as a new guard briefed him on something.

Mean while,Sunny needed to strategize and come up with another escape plan.
