Chapter 11

Now she remembered Anne,she was Lion's doctor sister.

She had been good to her the first time they met.Anne dropped her gun on a shelf and walked further into the room, giving Lion room to glide out.

Sunny looked up and their eyes locked briefly then he was gone.

"So... you're finally awake!The baby has been giving us sleepless nights."Anne took the baby back to his crib.She seemed the only one actually excited to see her awake.And that would possibly because the baby was finally off her radar."Well... technically me.Lion is normally out late but wakes up around 3 am to check the baby when he's around."

Anne went back to Sunny.Sunny had used the little distraction to dress up.

"Hey...relax girl.You look like you could snap at any moment."Sunny's tension only built up as she spread a nervous smile.This was her kidnapper's sister and her son's aunt.So why not let her guard down a bit?What more could go wrong,right?

Ann settled her pump self on a portable chair she had moved in front of Sunny.

"Look,I know I'm not the one supposed to say this but I'm so sorry."If Sunny's eyes weren't playing her,Anne looked guilty."I'm sorry about what went down in New York.I'm sorry for what went down between you and my brother.And finally,sorry for what you went through when you were taken from us."A smile brighter that the sun lit up her face in a flash."But we shouldn't dwell in the past,right? Let's all focus our energy on Leo instead."

She joined their hands on Sunny's lap.

"That bundle of joy is the break this family... everyone needed, especially Lion.Sunny's eyes were solely on Anne.She wasn't sure who was older between the duo siblings,but Anne got one thing right.She would focus her energy on Leo.

Maybe Lion will finally get bored for seeing her around and won't notice when she finally leaves this comfort zone.Speaking of...she could use a nice and warm meal.Lasagna perhaps?

And don't worry about Lion,he'll come around.He's a first time dad and topping that with what went down between you two... it's why he's all shy around you."

Sunny almost choked on air at the last statement.Lion shy??No!

Anne leaned slightly forward and took Sunny's hands.Sunny immediately noticed her rough cold ones against Anne's smooth and manicured ones.

"In the meantime,we'll be bff's and partners in caring for Leo.What do you say I your vitals and get you something to eat?"

Sunny's stomach grumbled in agreement and the two women chuckled.

Sunny couldn't even recognize her hoarse voice.And her throat felt all stages of sore.

"Yeah,sure."

That was the longest she'd spoken in weeks without breaking down.They walked hand in hand back to her room.

"After you're all rested, tomorrow I'll fill you in on the baby's schedule.I'm telling you he's a handful but you'll love him.Definitely,Sunny loved her son at first sight.And she didn't remember Anne that talkative the first time they met.Or maybe she had been too focused on escaping then to notice anything that detail.

"I barely get time to see my patients but I manage.Bilha chimms in to help once in a while."Anne chirped through the check up reminding Sunny she was a doctor.
