Volume 1 - Chapter 15: First day at Beacon Academy (6)

Third POV

Thor Thunder has olive skin, yellow hair and green eyes. Wearing a black headband to keep his bang away from his forehead. Thor keeps his spiky, waist-length hair tied at all times. He has muscular physique compared to most teenagers. He wears a tight, black undershirt with the top half covered by a blue sleeveless jacket, along with black jeans. Thor also wears a pair of black fingerless gloves and black boots.

He is currently in the arena with his hammer in his hand. Thor's hammer has a long handle, tipped with a sharp point. Near the head of the hammer, a purple scarf is tied.

Zak Turquoise has short a white hair and grey eyes. He is a very handsome young man with fair skin and a fairly muscular build. His standard outfit comprises a white shirt with a gold lines. Zak also wears a waist caped tied by a black obi with a gold bird shape pattern. Over this, he wears a white cape with gold pattern over his shoulder. He also wears knee-high white boots and white pants. Zak also wears a golden moon shaped earring from his right ear.

He is facing Thor from the arena with his white long sword out in his hand.

They were waiting for Glynda's signal before starting their fight. Zak and Thor were not talkative people, so they didn't waste time in talking as they were looking at each other in silence. Both of them looking for some weak point before their fight that they could they advantage from.

Glynda nodded as she saw her students ready to fight. She didn't want to waste her time as she took her scroll out. A screen appeared in front of the class with the name of Zak and Thor and their Aura Health Bar at 100%.

Glynda cleared her throat, attracting everyone's attention on her as she got ready to explain the rules of this spar.

"Before the sparring start, I would like to install some rule for the incoming and current spar."

"The fight end after a student Aura bar drop to 15% to avoid further injuries."

"No fatal injuries would be tolerated during the spar but don't worry about getting rough with your opponent today as we have Tae Takemi with us today."

"I won't waste anymore time."

"Students in 3, 2, 1, GO," said Glynda as Zak and Thor rushed toward the center to meet each other. Zak was faster than Thor as he arrived near Thor before crossing the center of the arena.

Zak raised his long sword as he was prepared to meet Thor's attack.

Thor panicked little as he raised his hammer over his head as he prepared to smash it toward Zak in counter attack.

Thor smashed his hammer on Zak but ended hitting nothing but the floor as it cracked everything underneath the hammer. Thor raised his hammer back in a hurry to find for his opponent figure.

Zak jumped in the air for when Thor lowered his hammer for a smash. Zak readied his long sword as he performed 6 fast strikes when Thor's hammer was on the ground. Luckily for Thor, he had enough time to parry 4 strikes but the last 2 strikes hit his body hard enough to drop his aura to 90%.

Zak dropped on the ground as he continued with a slash with his long sword infused with aura. Thor would not dodge it as he also infused his hammer with aura, ready to meet Zak's long sword.

"CLANG"

Both weapons met each other at the same time as they met a deadlock for the next 5 seconds. Unfortunately for Zak, he got overpowered by Thor's strength as he got pushed back.

Thor wouldn't let this chance slip by as he followed Zak's retreating figure with his own powerful combo. Thor ran toward Zak with a swing of his hammer as he hitting Zak who got back in time to parry with his long sword.

His sword didn't win this time either, as he lost again under Thor's formidable strength. Zak clicked his tongue in annoyance by getting overpowered by his opponent two times in a row. Thor could not care less about his opponent's feeling as he jumped with his hammer over his head again, preparing for a smash. Zak's pupils shrank as he quickly thought about his solution. Time seemed to slow down as Thor's hammer was going to meet Zak's body.

Thor's aura was currently at 80% while Zak's aura dropped to 82% from using infusing his aura on his long sword continuously and Thor strikes.

Zak kept analysing his current situation. If he dared to meet this smash with his long sword in his current situation. This is not any different from seeking death. He really didn't have the confidence to respond to this smash.

Zak overworked his brain to meet a solution from his precarious situation. He didn't want to lose his first match at Beacon.

Thor was also not the only one who wanted to lose on his first day at Beacon. He wanted to establish his position as the most powerful freshman with his strength. Time passed as Thor's hammer infused with a lot of auras and thunder arrived near Zak.

Zak's pupil shrank even more than he saw the thunder from Thor's hammer. His semblance, thought Zak. He didn't want to think anymore as he let his instinct taking the control of his body.

Zak rolled back, hoping to evade this powerful smash. As soon as he did his roll, Thor's hammer met the ground as it created a big hole. Zak kept analysing his opponent as he stood up from his roll.

"He is exhausted. This is my chance…!" said Zak as ran toward the exhausted Thor who tried to catch his breath back.

"Shit…" said Thor as he saw the running Zak. He stood up from his position with a lot of difficulty from his overworked body. Thor's last attack taxed a lot from his body. This thunder smash from Thor is made by channeling his thunder semblance all over his body and weapon to maximize his smash attack.

He made the mistake of using most of his aura in wanting to end this match quickly after he saw Zak's weak position. Thor's aura dropped to 65% from it.

"This is my win, Thor" said Zak as he readied his sword forward as he dashed toward Thor, leaving a crack on the floor.

"Keep dreaming! I'm Thor and I won't lose without a FIGHT!" cried Thor as many thunder snake discharged from Thor's body, coiled around him acting as a shield.

"Mphh, very let's see who is faster me or your thunder." Sneered Zak as he became invisible in his running.

Zak arrived in front of Thor as his thunder snake didn't react fast enough to protect from Zak various slashing leaving a trail of after image behind him.

Thor tanked every hit from his body as the surrounding thunder finally reacted, making its way toward Zak.

Zak simply smirked as he let out his last attack.

"… Too slow, Thor, This Is the End."

"Execute." Uttered Zak as his figure disappeared in front of Thor's face.

"FUCK! WHERE?" cried Thor as he dropped to one knee as he tried to catch his breath. He didn't want to think anymore as he let out even more thunder shaped snake coiling around him.

"Here!" said Zak as he appeared from his right as he dashed toward Thor with his sword, creating an eclipse on Thor's body that dealt with damage.

"AHHHH" shouted Thor in pain as Zak ended this eclipse with a slash of his sword. Zak appeared behind Thor as he sheathed his long sword, as Thor's body fell on the ground.

Zak didn't come out of this fight unscathed as his white clothes were burned and blood came out of his mouth. He took at Thor's body, but more precisely, his thunder.

'Those thunder… they are more dangerous than I thought…" thought Zak as he left the arena.

The students were silent as they soon cheered and applauded at the sparring. They didn't expect that the first fight would be so powerful and full of tension.

Glynda was also very surprise from this first sparring. She didn't expect first year to fight at this degree. She called for Takemi to take care of Thor's body in the arena and Zak's injuries.

Takemi hummed in agreement as she used her semblance on Zak as his injuries slowly recovered as she entered the arena toward Thor's pitiful as he also slowly recovered.

Glynda turned her body toward the winner of this spar as Zak waited for further instruction. She simply nodded as Zak understood it. He nodded back to Glynda as he left her for his team.

"Very good fight Zak Turquoise, you didn't hold back your strength toward your opponent and won this fight with a lot of difficulty."

"You made some mistake that could have led to your defeat early in the fight but performed enough to win back."

"If you want the record of the sparring, you can find it in the school app." Said Glynda as she tapped on her scroll. She looked up from her scroll as she gave everyone a 5 minutes break. Glynda used her semblance as Thor's body floated in the air as Takemi followed behind her.

Glynda said that she would take Thor to the infirmary as his team asked for this sudden action. They were pretty agitated at seeing their friend's injury. They didn't get mad at Zak at all. They knew it was a spar for everyone to get stronger and injuries were naturally be here.

They calmed themselves as they went back to their seat. Glynda nodded her head in contentment seeing their strong mentality because seeing a friend injured can be the reverse scale of many people.

Sora POV

Sora was very shocked and surprised by the level of this fight. This Remnant was not as simple as he thought. This fight was a wake up call for him. He wonders about the ceiling power of this world.

He needed more strength if he wanted to live in this world with a carefree attitude. He needed his second character card soon. Sora has to speed up his plan. Alchemy is imperative if he needs to progress to his acting of Albedo.

As Sora was in his own thought, he got woke up by his team's lively conversation.

"Hey, hey what do you guys thought about this fight? It was so crazy!" said Tifa as she looked at everyone on her team with starry eyes. Jean was rubbing her forehead as she witnessed this fight. It probably woke her up, too.

"… They were so powerful, I don't know if I could have won with either of them…." Said Jean as she sighed in defeat.

Sora didn't enjoy seeing Jean like that as he tapped her shoulder, successfully attracting her attention to him. Sora smiled at Jean as he took her hand as he rubbed it.

"Don't worry about it Jean, I don't think I could take Thor's strength or Zak's speed, but therefore we are here at Beacon Academy."

"We are in our first year at Beacon. We have many opportunities to get stronger together." Said Sora as he gently responded to Jean's depressing mood. It pained him to see his hardworking and optimistic leader like that.

Jean blushed at her partner's gentle words as she took her hand back in a hurry. She coughed, with her blush still on her face.

".. Thankyou sora…" said Jean as she got even more shy form Sora's encouraging speech. Tifa pouted at their scene but choose to not interrupt it.

"Looks like I have to continue my morning training…" whispered Jean as she got motivated by Sora's word. They continued to talk about the fight like the other student in the classroom.

They didn't wait long as Glynda came back with Takemi in the classroom. Everyone went silent at their arrival. Glynda and Takemi went to the front as Takemi took her seat beside Najenda.

Glynda took her scroll once more than she called the next pair. Most of the students gulped as the last fight was still vivid for everyone present.

"The next pair are Nord Snow Vs Sora Light"

"Please come inside the arena with your weapon." Said Glynda as she waited for both team leaders to enter the arena as she crossed her arms.

Both of them stood up from their seat as they looked at each other as their fighting spirit rose.

Tifa slapped Sora's back in encouragement as Jean gave her cheer, followed by Atalanta's silent thumbs up. Sora nodded as he promises he would win this spar.

Team NUTS cheered at their leader and waited for him to bring glory for their team.

Sora and Nord were in the arena as they waited for the start of the fight. Sora has his sword out and in his fighting stance while Nord took his dual pistol out.

'A gunslinger, thought Sora how interesting.' Thought Sora as he lowered his body a bit. They suddenly saw a screen coming off with their sparring information.

"I upgraded the screen to make it easier for both fighter and me."

"The screen will announce the fight after the countdown, so both fighters please be ready." Said Glynda as she activated something on her scroll.

SORA LIGHT Vs NORD SNOW

3, 2, 1

FIGHT!

As soon as they both heard the fight. Sora dashed toward Nord with his sword out as Nord retreated as he aimed his pistol toward Sora.

Hello everyone, a big chapter for this last chapter before the holiday break. I hope everyone had fun reading it. The longest chapter that I made as of right now. This is my second battle scene? I don't know if it was good enough for you guys.

I just opened another book called " Starting by creating Agumon and Gabumon in DxD" look if you like Digimon and High school DxD. This is something that I made in the spur, so don't worry, I will keep updating this book.

Anyway, I won't take your time anymore.
