Ch 2 - Mom?

What. The. Fuck.

'That's what it is like to be birthed? I feel sorry for all babies. First, we're in a dark place for months being unable to move and often losing consciousness. Then we have to go through hours of that hell. My respect for all newborns has skyrocketed. Our first impression in the world is hours of torture.' I sigh exhausted.

'Okay well now that I am born let's see what this new world is like.'

*Blink* *Blink*

'HUH?'

'Why am I floating in the air? What is this nonsense? I don't feel anything surrounding me or holding me up yet I'm clearly hovering above the ground.'

'Where in the universe could I have been reincarnated too that allowed babies to fly?'

'Woah,' I think to myself as I start to descend towards someone.

'Hmm, this person seems to be a nurse judging by their appearance. Unfortunately, I can't understand anything that they are saying,' I pout as she pulls me into her embrace.

"Maria is he okay?" Layla asked holding a deep breath.

"I don't know. He isn't crying and the procedure went terribly," Maria the nurse replies as she pulls me into her embrace.

She then pokes me in the arm.

'What the hell lady? I'm a newborn baby why are you poking me? Is she already trying to kill me? Also, how did you hurt me without using anything and holding me in your arms?' I wailed out in confusion.

"It's good news he feels the pain when I poked him using wind magic. Your baby here seems too curious to cry. Albeit being slightly malnourished he will grow up to be a healthy strong boy," Maria smiled as she told Layla.

"Praise you Maria as long as he lives it will be alright," Layla said as tears dripped down her face.

"Can I please hold him?"

"I don't think it's a good idea. Your body is too far gone if you hold him now you definitely won't survive the night," Maria stated sadly.

"Please! I'm going to die anyway just let me hold my poor baby boy. Let him be in his mother's embrace before he loses her." Layla pleads as tears continue to flow down her cheeks.

Sigh. "Okay but only for a moment we still have to get him treated." Maria allows as she herself is a mother and can only imagine the pain Layla is going through.

'Damn this crazy nurse lady trying to kill me where is my mother that Layla person? She shouldn't be letting this happen to her newborn son,' I rant.

'Oh, I'm floating again. Now, where is this psychotic lady taking me to?' I wonder.

'Ahh. What the heck now I'm in another crazy lady's embrace who is crying nonstop. Where could I have possibly be reincarnated too?'

"My sweet baby Noah, mommy is going to be going away soon but you have to be strong to survive in this world. I pray that you have an easy and peaceful life. Now take care, my beautiful boy," Layla says through tears as she places a kiss on my forehead. "You can take him away now."

Maria nods as I float back to her and brought to another room.

'I guess that crying person was my mother based on how she kissed me and held me with so much warmth. It was such an unfamiliar sensation which I don't want to feel again.'

'Ah, I'm moving again. Oh, it's the crazy killer nurse lady. What do you think you are doing huh? Can't you see my mother is crying? It's probably because you stabbed me. Then taunted her by placing me in her arms before taking me away. I am a monster but you are just as messed up. Even though I don't care at all for Layla she hasn't done anything wrong to me and you are just being plain cruel,' I think to myself in a huff. 'Once I grow up and get strong enough you will be the first to pay.'

The staff that consists of 6 other nurses then do all kinds of tests to keep and make sure I say healthy in the future.

'Holy shit has this been one fucked up day. From going through an untold length of torturous birth, getting stabbed, crazy people, being able to fly, and hours of tests.'

'Thankfully they seem to be done for the day so I can get some peace and quiet to have my first ever sleep in this new world,' I rejoice happily.

'Wait is that the sounds of another person walking up to me? I can't take it anymore just let me be!' I exclaim.

'Huh, oh it's just Layla. Is she here to break me out of this hell hole?' I pray.

"Noah darling you have to be strong in this world. It's already too late for me yet it's just the beginning for you. Make me proud my dear sweet little boy." Layla says.

'You do know that I am a baby right? Even if I wasn't reincarnated I would still have no idea what you are saying. Now stop blabbering and get us out of here,' I protest.

Then it happened. The most beautiful and magical thing I've ever seen.

My mother laid out her hands and chanted something before I was surrounded by a bubble of water.

It felt wonderful like something that was part of me that I lost before rightfully returning to its owner.

An uncountable amount of shimmering water particles enveloped me. The feeling of it was so wonderful that I was completely absorbed to realize what was truly happening.

My mother in this new world who had been the first person to ever care for me used her last breath to sacrifice herself to bless me with water affinity comprehension.
