The Impending Battle

Rain began to fall on sleeping country, however, he was still awake. Eyes bloodshot and his mind racing. All this evil in the world, and not one single soul willing to stand up and fight. His blood boiled remembering those he'd dealt with before the new government took over. Raiders, Rapists, Slavers, and all sorts of degenerates, all of them had fallen at the bloody hands of the Ghost, each of them had a few things in common, they underestimated him, they challenged him, and they hurt others. Nobody could've seen the monster he'd become, the living hell that became a United States Legend, with the Legend still alive.

He stood up and walked onto the balcony, feeling the warm rain hit his face. The man put on his new mask, this one equipped with anti-material filters, he loaded his weapons, and sharpened his shovels blade. A fight was coming, and it would be his turn to live up to his legend.

That morning found the NAE looking to Europe as chaos had erupted from the NWO. The small unrelated rebellions had finally taken root and dealt a major blow to their oppressors. President Overlord lowered the Defcon down to Defcon Two, as if he too knew that war was coming. The world had been brought to its knees with the first wave of nukes, and now, it was on the verge of a brand-new type of WWII, but this, this was different. The NWO and NAE were the only major superpowers that had been able to sustain themselves. The Japanese government had already put their support to the New American Empire, while the NWO had their control over Europe. China and Germany were the only two countries unaccounted for.

"President Overlord, our government is sending you warships to bolster your defenses while you begin your operation."

"Excellent, send them my thanks ambassador."

Everyone took a long breath, the engines of war were beginning to turn again, and nothing they did seemed to slow them down.

"Military Commander Ghost, per your request, we have recommissioned all of the old Iowa Class Battleships and any remaining aircraft carriers."

"Good, send word to the Automakers, have them begin building destroyers and landing craft. I suspect we could be at war any day now."

"Yes sir, we entered a dark age."

"Let it not be our last. America has lived this long, no sense in letting anyone kill it now."
