The Ghost of Ottawa: Stand and Fight

The Ghost went to work, bloodying the hammers he wielded. The Oppergrubenfuhrer stepped out of the portal and injected the serum he had requested.

With a solid punch, he sent the Ghost flying backwards and didn't let up. Hitting the Ghost across D.C, the BFPA-100 barely holding together, the battlefield was made up of just two men, a man of fascism, tyranny, and despicable actions, the other of vengeance, hopes and dreams of everyone he was holding atop his shoulders.

Both sides held their troops back as the Ghost and Oppergrubenfuhrer went at it.

"You took New York from me, and I shall take this land from you and your children."

"Over my dead body, I won't let up, come at me with everything you've got Nazi asshole, I promised my people, this is the Land of the Free, because of the Brave!"

The Nazi vs the American, everything was at stake. The Ghost's wife watched her husband endure the barrage of punches holding the Nazi back, keep him away from all of them. The Ghost striking only when necessary, making sure to save his strength.

Every punch only got stronger, every single punch, the Ghost took willingly, even going as far as to tackle the Nazi into the ground.

"Face it Ghost, that's to my serum, I am more powerful than you'll ever be! I will kill you and make your family watch."

"You'll have to a lot better than that! Americans don't die that easily!"

The Nazi grinned as he beat the armor off the Ghost, the hydraulic frame exposed in multiple places as the Ghost held his ground. The armor finally gave out, leaving just the Ghost and his green WWII coveralls to face the super Nazi.

"I'd surrender now, before I drag you entrails up to your wife!"

"Come at me and I'll show you the power of the Ghost of Ottawa! You stay away from her! No, I won't let you near her!"

"So be it!"

The Nazi punches away, the Ghost trying his best to hold out.

"He'll be killed! Someone do something! said Juno and Inferno uneasily.

"Have faith in him, that's all we can do." said his wife looking at him, her hands clasped around the necklace he'd give her.

The Nazi kept beating him, over and over again, his body ached, and his muscles burned as tried to stay on his feet. However, with a swift punch, the Ghost fell to the ground, his own blood staining the green coveralls.

The Nazi chuckled as he stood over his opponent.

"For an African American, you make an excellent punching bag, I'll give you that." the Nazi grinned kicking him in the side.

"He has to get up!"

"Come on Ghost, do something!"

The Nazi began to walk towards the crowd of American, the Star Spangled Heroes stepped in front of his wife.

"You see, he can't..."

"Get...away...from them."

The Nazi turned around to see the Ghost sanding up again. His legs shaking but he was upright.

"I thought you'd be dead by now."

"I..made a promise...I won't fail, not like this."

"Too bad, you're beaten."

"You don't understand, I won't fail her."

The Ghost pointed to his wife then made a fist. "YOU'LL HAVE TO KILL ME!"

He lunged at the Nazi, his body burning with a fire he'd thought had died years ago.

"THIS IS MY PROMISE TO MY PEOPLE! I WILL BE YOUR HERO! HAVE FAITH IN ME!"

The Ghost decked the Nazi, his face bleeding, his body screaming at him, but he refused to stand down.

"Hitler be damned, why won't you just die!"

"Because I have yet to fulfilled my promise!"

The Ghost punched the Nazi again and again, only for the Nazi to get pissed of and beat him into the ground. His body laying still, blood trickled down into a pool beside him.

"There, he is finished now."

His wife fell to her knees, his body wasn't moving. The other heroes looked at him hoping for a sign, but not one showed as the Nazi began his march to them. The Ghost of Ottawa was finally down, and everyone was scared for the first time. He'd finally lost his fight, once and for all.
