Star Spangled Juno: Queen of the Heavens
Back in the Bunker, Dr. Madie had been working nonstop at getting Liberty Bell back into the fight.
"Alright Liberty, test arm actuators and left leg piston one."
The Automaton follows her directions. "Excellent, you're almost ready! We just have to finish your last piston upgrade and repair then you'll be back out there!"
Madie had spent most of her days in the laboratory, constantly thinking up the next generation of modifications for Liberty Bell. One day she had fallen asleep at her desk. One of her colleagues had draped a blanket over her shoulder to keep her warm. Leon had stopped by almost to awaken her when he saw her plans for a new kind of armor. Gently lifting her arm, he took the plans back to his lab and set to work.
The next morning, Madie woke up to find Leon and a few others testing out something.
"Morning Doctor."
"Good Morning Mr. Leon, what is that?"
"Don't you recognize your own work?"
She paused for a moment, when she realized it was the armor she designed, she went to yell at him but he simply shook his head.
"This isn't for production, rather I took your plans and made it for you. You've been covering for me, so consider it a gift."
"I don't know what to say."
"Don't say anything, the both of you." The Ghost said walking up on both of them.
"Sir?" they both said.
"Madie, get suited up, or should I call you by title, the Star Spangled Juno?"
She smiled and had her team get her set up in the armor.
"You and Liberty Bell deploy today with the rest of us, we gotta hit these assholes hard. Apparently, the Overlord and the Inferno have located the space people's base. We aren't going to waste an opportunity like this. We leave in fifteen, be ready at the gate." said the Ghost as he put on his mask.
The science team get Liberty Bell fully armed and released from her gantry. The Star Spangled Juno joins Liberty on her should as the Archive doors open and the floor raises Liberty and Madie to the surface. On the surface, they are joined by the Ghost and the American army.
"Today is the day we take the battle to them. Today is the day we show them we aren't resting six feet under for a reason! All troops! Advance!"
Juno and Liberty lead the troops on their march followed by the Ghost.
As they reach the battlefield, The Inferno and The Overlord regroup with the main battle group.
"The Star Spangled Ghost, Mercenary and Juno joining us for today's round of fun?"
"That's not all." says another voice. Stepping out of the crowd was Leon's daughter, The Star Spangled Inventor, the one who came up with the designs for Liberty Bell in the first place.
"We can get to know each other later, for now focus on the battle at hand." said the Ghost as he unpinned his American Flag cape.
"Right, Liberty Bell, destroy!" ordered Juno.
Fire, mini nukes, EPS shots, lasers and electrical pulses flood the battlefield at the gates of their hell. The Americans push forwards, The Star Spangled Heroes fought their way into the hell before them, inspiring their soldiers to push even harder. Juno kept the enemy away from the head of Liberty Bell as the automaton marched up to Station One, which had been the station the Ghost, and Overlord had put into space together.
One of the Supers jumped up to Liberty Bell's head, but had his eyes gouged out the Star Spangled Juno, she removed her blood-soaked fingers from the skull of the dead enemy. The Ghost had her back, unleashing the demon he'd been living with, allowing it to go on a rampage with his body, slaughtering supers as they entered the battlefield. The Star Spangled Juno opened up the full arsenal of her suit, stabbing, and leaving gorified bodies in her wake as the heroes made it up to the gates of their hell and opened up Pandora's box as they made their way inside.
