Of Corpses and Maggots
About eight months passes since the Skattlkin took over the world. Juno sat on the porch of Barbara's farm. She and her girlfriend had been keeping watch. Daniel had just woken up when the Queen Skattlkin began to move. Her herd had been moving towards the farm at an alarming rate.
"Daniel, get ready to leave, same for you Barbara."
The behemoth of a queen lumbered towards the farm as Daniel opens fire upon the Queen.
"Juno, we ain't out running this." said Daniel reloading his rifle.
However, from the other side of the hill, rose hope.
Liberty Bell and the Protector arose above the moving horde.
"Show them no mercy." uttered the Protector as he racked a round in his EPS rifle. However, neither Liberty Bell nor the Protector moved. From below them, marched a reborn Constitution and Leon. Leon pointed at the Queen and with her new upgrades Constitution drove them back.
"Seems like everyone's forgotten..Fuck with the United States, find out why we don't do the whole free healthcare deal." said Leon, clenching his fist.
Constitution opened fire her brand new arsenal. Sonic disruptors, and pulse lasers hit the queen as she advanced toward Liberty and Protector.
With a roar, her troops began to open rush at the new automaton.
"Juno, Daniel, Barbara, climb into Liberty Bell's hand. We have to go." stated the Protector turning around and flying away.
As they climb into Liberty Bell's hand, the Automaton flies after the Protector. They fly for what seems like forever before Liberty Bell touches down in downtown Ottawa.
"Back to where it all started. said Juno."
"Yes, I've been rescuing everyone we've known, then we bring them here."
"That explains why I lost contact with the Liberty Lurkers." said Barbara.
"Yes, they didn't want to leave until they had told you, but with other factions out there, I gave them no choice. The other factions aren't exactly willing to accept that America still exists so long as we are here."
"What other factions?"
The Protector looked at the rest of them.
"Damn, I really thought I would've seen through this stupid act."
