"You were right. I like Maria." We're getting into Dominik's black SUV, and it was a hike just to get all the way to the parking garage.
"It's because she fed you, isn't it?"
I frown. "What's that supposed to mean?"
When he looks my way, the sun angling sideways on his face with blue eyes practically glowing and blonde hair illuminated brilliantly, I almost shield my eyes. He is way too attractive. And when he smiles, it's amplified.
"It means you're full and happy, right?"
I shrug. "Toast would have been just fine."
"But French toast is so much better. With strawberries and whip cream and syrup. Not to mention that breakfast sausage…"
"Yes, okay. It was delicious, thank you for reminding me." Why does he have repeat everything I ate? "You seemed to enjoy it, too."
"Yeah, I did," he chuckles. "Second breakfast is always my favorite."
