The dungeon had been harder than either of them expected.
Kai and Kiara had entered it thinking it would be a typical D-rank dungeon – simple, straightforward, something they could clear without too much trouble. They couldn't have been more wrong.
The entrance had been nothing more than a craggy opening in the side of a cliff, a jagged slit in the earth that led into what seemed like a massive cave system.
The air inside was thick with the smell of damp stone, the echo of distant noises reverberating off the walls. The deeper they went, the more the temperature seemed to drop.
"Even if it's a D-rank," Kiara murmured, eyes scanning the shadows, "we need to stay alert. Monsters aren't always what they seem." She kept her sword at the ready, her senses heightened.
She was used to facing danger, but there was something off about this place. It felt... wrong.
