Darling! Are You A Worm In My Stomach?

Hibiki was truly an excellent assistant.

In no less than three days, Masami was successfully transferred to a sanatorium in the city. Granny Sumiko followed suit. The old lady was tearful when she finally met the young lady she had served during her younger days. Both of them embraced while crying.

Tsubaki, who watched the bittersweet scene, couldn't help but shed tears as well.

"I wouldn't have really thought... to be able to meet you again, Second Miss," Granny Sumiko cried until her eyes swollen. She repeatedly muttered gratitude in between her sobs.

"Aunt Sumiko, you've suffered... I'm sorry," Masami felt so sad when Tsubaki relayed to her about Granny Sumiko's living condition after she had to leave the Fujioka family.

This old lady had to earn her own keep. If not for her daughter and son-in-law finding Granny Sumiko, without a doubt, she would have to continue living like that and have to depend on the welfare council.

"I've always prayed for your wellness, Second Miss," Granny Sumiko shook her head, "Even though you're not as healthy as before, at least, you are still alive."

When Masami's health condition was revealed to Granny Sumiko, the latter had almost couldn't believe her ears. The Second Miss in her memory was a vibrant and bubbly young lady. To have her liveliness being reduced because of her terminal illness, Granny Sumiko felt like her heart was pierced to pieces.

"All is well, all is well," Masami didn't want to be greedy. She just wanted to live the end of her days by the side of the ones who loved her.

Her eyes drifted to where her daughter was standing.

Up until now, she still felt like she was dreaming. For more than two decades, she had been living alone, while having to wonder if her children were living well.

Even though Hinata's life was cut short, she was still able to live in happiness with the man who dearly loved her together with their little son.

Tsubaki herself got married well to a man who cherished her despite the hardships in her early years.

Masami was grateful because her daughters were able to obtain a love so dear as how she had with their father.

The sanatorium where Masami and Granny Sumiko were currently living covered a vast plot of land on the hilltop. The lush greenery surrounding the place brought tranquility to whoever resided in the cream-colored buildings. A team of professional doctors and attendants was sought out exclusively to take care of the two ladies.

Ren had arranged for the two of them to live in the same ward. Even so, there was still privacy for each one of them. Tsubaki often came here whenever she could squeeze out her time in between her wedding preparations.

The existence of her mother was revealed to Grandma, Aunt Kasumi and the others. Although they were so shocked, they were quick to accept Masami. Aunt Kasumi had even brought Grandma to the sanatorium to have the first formal meeting with Tsubaki's mother as well as Granny Sumiko.

Satsuki joined them as well. He was totally glad when his dear sister was able to find her biological mother.

Tsubaki had to say her life was so fulfilling right now unlike the days when she had to spend digging up her past.

One night, she was sitting in a daze on the bed. Her behavior was caught by her husband who had just walked out of the washroom.

When Ren saw that Tsubaki didn't register his presence after a few minutes had passed, he quietly sat on the bed next to her.

"Sweetheart," He naturally brought her in his arms. Ren bent down and greedily sucked in her pleasant scent. His voice was muffled down by her skin, "You're daydreaming."

"Ah," Tsubaki blinked her eyes. The last trace of daze disappeared from them. She let out a giggle and turned around to snuggle in her husband's hug, "Yes, I'm daydreaming~ Hehe."

Ren let out a helpless laugh. He supported his wife and carefully lied on the bed. One of his hands began to gently rub her stomach.

"Do you feel surreal?" It was not hard for Ren to guess Tsubaki's thoughts.

Tsubaki pretended to be surprised, "Darling! Are you a worm in my stomach? You even know what I'm thinking."

"How unclassy, you called this handsome me a worm?" Ren deliberately showed disgust in his eyes. He tapped on her tummy, "I could telepath with these brats, so of course, I know."

"Hahaha~"

The husband and wife rolled on the bed, playing with each other for a while. After some time, Ren sat up. It was time for him to massage his wife's limbs. He always did so before they went to sleep.

"You've been thinking of something since you came back from Mother's place," Ren put more pressure on the tips of his fingers as he massaged his wife's right calf, "Did Mother say something to you?"

"It's not that," Tsubaki sighed in contentment. She really loved lazying in bed while enjoying her husband's massage skills, "I heard that Aunt Shiori has finalized her divorce with President Souma."

"Yes. Their stocks crashed a bit because of that," Ren heard it as Takuma mentioned it to him today.

The ideal couple in everyone's eyes divorced shortly after celebrating their wedding anniversary. Of course, the news caused a massive shock to the people in high society. Even though divorce was something that happened frequently among them, because it happened to the Souma couple, they didn't treat this news as mere gossips.

Who else didn't know how in love Mrs. Souma to President Souma? They were more shocked when they heard it was her who initiated the divorce.

"Actually, I couldn't quite believe it because President Souma didn't make it hard on Aunt Shiori. He easily gave in to her request for a divorce."

Tsubaki didn't know either she should be happy or not.

She was relieved because Aunt Shiori was able to let go of her love toward the man who she held dear in her heart for decades.

Yet, it was still sad because this meant that her heart was broken by this action.

Everything had its own price. To gain something, it was inevitable for someone to lose something else.

"I don't know what happened to him, but I heard he transferred most of his job to his brother," Ren thought back to what else Takuma had told him.

"Eh?" This time, Tsubaki was genuinely surprised, "Does he want to step down?"

Ever since the time they met at the genome institute, Tsubaki no longer paid any attention to President Souma. She was grateful because that man didn't make things hard for her.

The possibility of President Souma would find her again to persist in what he had believed for decades had always arisen in her mind, but, since that man didn't appear in front of her, Tsubaki couldn't help but forget about the matter.

"Maybe?" Ren shrugged. He was too lazy to care about the man yet he still answered his wife, "There are skeletons in their family's closet that most people do not know about. Even though Mr. Souma openly hates his brother, it doesn't seem the case to President Souma. He cares about his brother despite coming from different mothers."

"What?" This piece of news was something Tsubaki didn't know.

"Many things happened in their parents' generations," Ren didn't tell her more. It was just enough to know until this far.

Seeing that her husband decisively put an end to the topic, Tsubaki chose to not dwell on the subject. She only concluded that Mr. Souma's hatred toward President Souma not only came from the death of her father.

Maybe, it stemmed from something hidden that only they knew.

"Enough. Stop thinking about those unnecessary people," Ren began to pepper Tsubaki's face with little kisses; from her brows, up to her forehead, trailing along the jawline until his lips fell on hers, "We've to wake up early tomorrow. Have you forgotten about our wedding photoshoot?"

"Ah! Haha, you're right," Tsubaki laughed awkwardly. She felt a little bit guilty because, in fact, she indeed had forgotten about it, "Okay, okay, I'll go to sleep now~"

Ren scoffed. He narrowed his eyes and looked strangely at his wife who was laughing guiltily.

"Darling, darling, hug me," Tsubaki was quick to pull herself out of the trouble. She threw a coquettish look at her husband with her lips pouted a bit.

The wife fool so easily succumbed to her coquetry.

"Sleep," Ren pinched her nose, "Don't think about anything else. Just dream about me."

"Oho, darling, you want to act as a domineering president with me?" Tsubaki raised her brows, "Where did you learn it?"

"Well, Grandma is currently swooning over a CEO drama on TV. I thought of having a try," Ren smiled smugly, "Aren't you happy to have this domineering president as your husband? I'm dashingly handsome, tall and rich."

"Yeah, right," Tsubaki answered vaguely.

Ren ignored her skeptical look. His smile turned more arrogant, making Tsubaki's fingers itching to pinch his face.

I'm sorry for the lack of replying to the comments. I've been too preoccupied with work lately. On a side note, it's safe for me to say that Spring Blooms When I'm With You and The Ocean Beneath Her Feet might end somewhere in April (if nothing comes up)

Enjoy! ;)
