"I Thought We Were friends?"

The two moved apart, Spitfire giving Scott a very seductive smile.

Scott smiles back, speaking, "Well, I don't want to, but I better be heading back, it's getting late, and I hate driving in the dark,"

Spitfire frowns, he understood, but still, he wished Scott Hoying didn't have to go, " it's ok Scotty, I had a wonderful birthday," he smiles,

" I'll remember that kiss forever,"

Scott nods and glances to meet eyes with Spitfire, " hopefully, there will be more kisses to come,"

"why wouldn't there be?" Spitfire asked curiously.

Scott shrugs, " I wouldn't want to have to kill your old man, spit!"

Spitfire giggles at Scott,

He loved his dad dearly but definitely hated being Adams punching bag,

"Scotty! " Spitfire smirks teasingly.

Scott stood up, grabbing an old blue jean bag on the table,

Spitfire stood up in front of Scott, looking up to him.

" See you tomorrow? Nine thirty at the café, right?" Scott smiles.

Spitfire nods " yep, I'll be there!"

" Alright then, see you later," Scott says and cracks a smile sneaking a quick kiss on Spitfires cheek.

Spitfire leaned in on the kiss, exchanging a kiss back, "medium coffee, two tablespoons of sugar, and a dash of milk?" He smiles.

" Good memory, Spitty," Scott laughed, " good memory,"

Spitfires cheeks became pink,

He was blushing,

looking to Scott lovingly,

"bye," he says haltingly.

" Bye, I'll see you tomorrow," Scott says, slowly turning away from Spitfire.

Spitfire stood watching Scott walk away from him,

with his bag over his shoulder,

Scott left the house,

and Spitfire attained in a daze,

playing with his bottom lip,

thinking of the kiss the two romantically shared,

someone came up behind him and tapped him on the shoulder.

Spitfire screeched and turned around frightened,

realizing it was just Cindy and Chocolate,

he felt pretty foolishly afterward.

" Ohhh, I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you," Cindy says sincerely.

Spitfire had his hand on his heart, "Holy..." He says,

taking a deep breath,

"So.." Cindy smiles, "Are Scotty and you serious?"

Spitfire smiles, following a laugh, "We just happen to enjoy each other's company."

Cindy grins, looking at sparkling Spitfire, "It's good to see you smiling." She added.

"It's been a while, but it does happen from time to time." Spitfire states.

Chocolate walks over to Cindy and Spitfires' conversation.

"Hey," Spitfire beams, studying Chocolate.

Chocolate smiles, "This party was great,

Happy 16th."

Spitfire nods, "Amen, So when are you coming to visit next?" he asks.

Cindy looks to Chocolate.

"Well, probably soon, I can't say." Chocolate shrugs.

Cindy frowns, " science school all this month, so more than likely in July or August, mom has plans for me, and Graham is supposed to come along on this camping trip." she explained.

"Remember our adventures?" Spitfire asks, arching a brow in question.

Cindy tilted her head,

trying to recall back and sat in silence for a few seconds.

Spitfire, Cindy, and Chocolate,

have been the best of friends since kindergarten,

But Cindy still seemed to forgetfully identify such memories.

Spitfire stood and stared towards Cindy jolted, "Remember?" he asks.

Cindy shrugs, "Well, kind of, it's been a long time, don't you know."

Spitfire shook his head, "Remember the Haunted Water Well, Remember playing those awful tricks on Uncle Buddy?" He names off a few, "Don't you remember?"

Chocolate shrugs, "It's been a long time, Spitfire." She added.

Spitfire frowns, "I'm not sure how you can forget some of the best memories I have?" He asks blankly.

Cindy stared confused at Spitfire's sudden anger.

"I Miss you Cindy, Chocolate,

when you head back to your place,

I'm always looking forward to having you visit next." Spitfire says,

glancing at the both of them.

Chocolate glanced to Cindy, with a shrug,

Then Cindy Speaks.

"What does that suppose to mean?" she questions,

Spitfire shook his head,

He understood the two girls grew somewhat apart from him, but still,

Those exact words cut through Spitfires' heart,

and into his almost repaired soul,

He looks up and meets eyes with Cindy,

"Why would you say that?" He asks.

Cindy shrugs, "I've grown up Spitfire,

Chocolate has too,

let's not live in the past."

Spitfire hardens the glare, "L-live in the past?" he says, shocked at the vocabulary Cindy is using, "What the hell, Cindy?" He stomps,

Spitfire's anger brewed like the Lava, deep down inside the volcano that overlooked the town,

"You know what?" Spitfire roars. "you both can have your city life,

your stupid friends,

You both are my best friends,

but I can tell." He shouts, "I can tell you've both moved on,

All you could talk about is your stupid life,

Graham, that city... HAVE IT ALL!" he shrieks,

"I don't want that here, so leave it at the front gate." Spitfire cries,

his voice echoing off the front room walls.

Chocolate looks over to Cindy, then back to Spitfire, "S-spitfire." she says Slowly.

"Have your Life then...

I'm happy with mine right at the moment,

and you both have to ruin this beautiful day for me" He cries,

a tear drips from his left eye,

Spitfire's voice was high as he spoke pointedly.

Cindy nods, " I didn't mean to ruin the day." she explains.

"Shut up," Spitfire snarls towards her, "All you could talk about was your Stupid friend Graham,

I thought I was your friend?" He cries

Cindy opened her mouth to talk,

but Spitfire spoke instead, "When you both moved away, I felt I was the only one in the world that felt suffering,

I missed you both every day, every hour,

I almost went insane because of the silence." He screeches,

"I couldn't wait for the phone calls every day, you hear me?"

Cindy nods, Chocolate covered her ears, Spitfire was Crying,

and it drove her crazy to see him upset.

"I'm Angry..." Spitfire Shouts, "Every phone call nowadays is about your life, about Graham, about the fun you both have." He cries, another tear runs, "I'm not saying you are not allowed to have fun, but Cindy... You can't even remember what we used to do? Me, you and Chocolate, you can't remember?" he says sternly, "Why Can't you remember?"

Cindy Shrugs,

Chocolate shook her head with a confused look on her face,

Spitfire Stood as another tear ran down the skin on his cheek,

"I thought we promised we'd always be friends?" He says.

A women's voice called from the corner of Spitfires Angry Gaze,

calling for Cindy to come and that it's time to go.

Spitfire shook his head, troubled, wiping his tears on his sleeve.

Cindy nodded towards her mom, "I have to go,

I'll call you tonight, ok?" She says, slowly.

Spitfire nods with a grimace, "Ok." He says simply,

stretching his arms out to accept a hug.

Cindy tucked her arms away and smiles small at Spitfire, confusingly she stared.

She didn't want to hug him, even though Spitfire was ready to hug her after all that has gone on this evening.

She moved apart from the commotion,

heading with her mom to the front door,

Chocolate frowns and gives a quick wave to Spitfire but that was all before she walked away also.

Spitfire stood, a few more tears ran down his cheeks as he watched Cindy and Chocolate walk away from him,

Cindy left and soon Chocolate followed with her parents.

Spitfire was heartbroken, betrayed, and utterly bitter towards what he called his best friends for treating him this way.
