Chapter 9- Black and White Sparrow, Five Colored Snake

'Hehehe' Sneered Nicolas inside his mind.

And then he faked shivering in fear and said.

"I-I will if you a-accept one my wish!" Said Nicolas with a voice like someone scared the shit out of him.

"Speak, what is your wish!" Said Grey like he was king looking at the peasants.

"I-I want you to g-give me 50 gold when we enter the R-Royal Arena!"

"What!? You want me to give you 50 gold!?

Not happening!"

"Actu-" Grey seemed like he changed his mind and wanted to accept the terms but, Nicolas was faster.

"T-Then, I w-will k-kill myself." Said Nicolas as he put his hand on his neck, it seemed that he wanted to choke himself to death.

"Noo, don't do that! I accept your terms!" Said Grey hurriedly.

In truth, Grey's life savings are 50 gold and some pills, and because of that, he wasn't willing to give Nicolas 50 gold but then he remembered that Nicolas is very weak and that the rewards his lord promised to him for this mission are much more precious than some pills and a little bit of gold.

"Do you accept now!?" Said Gret irritatedly, this little ant took so much of his precious time.

"Y-yes." Said Nicolas as he 'shivered'.

"Okay, now that you accepted a duel you better be at Royal Arena tomorrow at 1 o'clock, that's when we have a reservation."

"And if you don't come well, you know what will happen to you, don't you?"

Said Grey with a friendly smile.

And Grey left after that.

After Grey said that Nicolas sneered inside his mind.

'Hehe, he seems to be a natural actor. If he could, he would've attacked me already, Christopher probably forbid him to do so, it seems that Christophe really wants me to be an example of what happens of angering him.'

"Okay, let's go back to the hotel and see is there something different with my Spirits after absorbing Spirit Sources."

And after he said that he went back to the hotel.

Chaos City, Hotel of Freedom

"Okay, so all I need to do to enter my Spirit Space is to put my finger on my forehead and say 'Enter'."

And a moment later Nicolas followed instructions and entered his Spirit Space.

When he entered his Spirit Space he found himself on the small platform which contains an artificial lake and a tree with a nest.

'Weird, everything is same, I thought that something would change to surroundings after my Spirits absorbed Spirit Sources.'

He first looked at the tree and found a little sparrow in the nest.

Everything was the same as the last time with the sparrow: the size, the color of eyes, and the aura emanating from the sparrow, but only one thing was different and that is the color of the sparrow feathers. The whole left of the side of the sparrow is white and the whole right side is black.

And then, he looked at the lake and saw the snake, like the sparrow, everything was same, but the color of the body was different.

The snake seems to be divided in the five sections. The tail is red, the head is yellow, and the places in between the head and tail are orange, blue, and green.

But even though Nicolas's Spirits changed the color he was not surprised, his spirits ate Element Sources, something is bound to happen, he would be more surprised if nothing happened at all.

'Now, should I try to form an initial connection with my Spirits and enter the first stage of the Spirit Energy System or should I try to get used to my Innate Energy completely?'
