“What is your name?” the voice asked and Sri Latha came out of her thoughts. She decided she had nothing to lose from talking to a fellow inmate. She didn’t see any prison guards nearby anyway.

“Srilatha. Yours?”

“Soukhya.”

You might be wondering reader, who this Soukhya might be. She is one of the leaders who were arrested for leading the protest against the government along with other leaders. She had been sent to one of the strongest fortresses in the empire to prevent her interaction with other leaders. She was now talking to Srilatha. What had happened to her after her arrest? The other woman took a deep breath. “I am a political prisoner.” She replied. “I was arrested for speaking against injustice.”

“Why? What did you do?”

“It’s a long, boring story.”
