Experiencing the Characters

Both sisters could not stop dreaming about the story. They were sharing the same dream but were in different people. The layout was familiar, but the outlook was drastically different.

One was more alone than the other.

While Dixie was hypnotized by the plight of the female lead, Felicia Viviane Del Montague, Bonnie gravitated towards the big brother, Alexander Nicholas Del Montague.

Dixie's heart and soul bled as she saw everything through Felicia's eyes. Watching her mother die, the unfair accusation, her father's cold eyes, being discarded, the blatant disrespect from low level servants, the whispers, the gossip, being made the black sheep of the Del Montague family, the arrival of her evil step-mother and step-sister, the manipulations, the brainwashing, the slander, the schemes, being locked up, starving, crying, so much crying, the admonishments, the slaps, the judgements and ultimately execution by fire for a crime she never committed.

Poor girl. Poor, poor girl. Why did she have to suffer and die for the sake of someone else satisfying their greed? How could people be so cruel? So blind? Accusing the one suffering of causing suffering?

Bonnie in some ways had a far more unpleasant experience. She was made to feel all of Alexander's emotions and rationalizations. She had to watch this man slander and destroy his blood sister's life simply because he favored his adoptive sister. His mind was so warped by the manipulative and honey-poisoned tongues of his step-mother and step-sister. He always believed them. He didn't even try to understand his sister's side.

He was a total bully in sore need of some punches. She felt especially furious because Alex reminded her of her own father. The dynamic of the problem was exactly the same.

When the dream finally ended, she let out an audible cry of relief.

Eyes snapping open, she panted hard as sweat poured down her. She turned to her side and saw that Dixie was also awake and drenched in sweat.

Before either one could speak they were distracted by a sudden sound coming from the kitchen.
