chapter-22-Unexpected

Dion felt something warm as he slowly opened his eyes.

No. He felt something flaming hot. Opening his eyes catching sight of something orange. As his sight became clearer he saw it to be a flaming hot fireball aimed right at his face.

WAA!

Dion screamed out of surprise and backed away.

"Oh, your awake." said a familiar voice in a disappointed tone.

He could see a figure peeking from behind the fireball.

"WH-What are you doing!?" He exclaimed as he saw the figure to be Lily.

"Welll, I am juust trying tooo..." She tried thinking of an answer.

"Clean the house up a bit. Yes! I am just trying to clean the house up a bit!" She said convinced of her own answer.

"If you shoot that, your not just going to clean the dust away, but you're also going to wipe me and THE ENTIRE HOUSE away!" He said.

"Well the garden did need a makeover, so two birds with one stone." Lily added.

He stared at her blankly trying to figure out what was going on in this airheads mind.

"Think fast!" She said as she released the fireball out of her hand.

Dion seeing this, instantly stretched his hand out and deployed a shield rune. The fireball aggressively clashed with the shield stirring up the air in the surroundings.

The sheets and all loose wear flung around chaotically as the pressure increased.

The fireball slowly lost all its energy as the shield was left ragged and cracked.

The surroundings were left chaotic and messy.

Heav!

Dion took heavy breathes, as he thought that he was dead for a seconde.

'That was close had the fireball lasted a second longer, I would have died!' He thought while switching hs gase to Lily.

He then said angrily, taking grip of her: "Why did you shoot a FIREBALL at me!"

"Chill, I was just testing that you haven't forgotten anything, and haven't let your guard down." she said not paying any heed to his frustration.

"But don't you think there are better ways to test that, than with a FIREBALL shot straight at my face?" He asked infuriated.

"Gotta have sacrifices, right? And I even if your schield broke I could just have stopped the spell, and even then your constitution is strong enough to not die from it." She said denying his all accusations.

"But still!..."

"And even then you have your regenerative bloodline so you would just have healed right up, and even then you could just have covered you skin in stone..." Lily went on and on without mercy trying to paint Dion to be wrong even though she knew that he was right.

"Do you understand." Lily asked him like a parent trying to teach their toddler.

He innocently nodded not understanding why he was the villain all of a sudden.

Lily had roasted him so hard till he was well done any bit more and he would have been over cooked, but she didnt want that, she still needed him for the day.

"Now go get ready. I'll be waiting outside." She said as she left the shack.

Dion sat there in the corner of his bed not knowing what to say. He slowly crawled out of his bed and put his clothes on.

Lily had given him new clothes that were much sturdier than his old ones and weren't as ragged. His old clothes were basically ripped apart, his shirt and pants were full of burn holes and tearings.

The new clothes had regeneration magic on them, so if they got damaged, they would just repair themselves.

He looked out the window as he reminisced about the time he was home.

'I feel at peace even though I am not at home.' He thought as he slowly headed out.

CRIECH!

He slowly closed the door of the shack as he headed toward Lily, who stood by the edge of the forest.

A slight breeze went over the trees as they neared the stone platform.

He thought that he would need to meditate again, as Lily had said that they would be doing something different.

Platform looked different. The aura of it had changed it felt less violent. As he stepped on it he found out the reason there was no mana focused on the platform, it actually had less mana focused on it.

It was completely dry of mana like a desert of water. His skin was tingling as he went to the centre of the platform, practically feeling his mana getting pushed out of his body. It wasn't a pleasant feeling. It felt like he was getting more tired the nearer he went to the centre.

"What is happening?" He asked Lily guessing it was her doing.

"I reversed the platforms effects." She told him.

"In this training, you are going to train your mana control. How much of it you control and how precise you control it. Precision is what you need to learn more as you are still really clumsy with mana. You just expend and use it like its infinite."

"Well, how am I going to train that on this platform. I mean I can see the mana control part, as in not letting the mana in my body get pushed out. But precision control, I don't really understand how this would help that." He asked confused.

He himself knew that training precision right now is really important, but he was never really taught a way to train it in particular.

"You'll see. But firstly just sit down and try to not let you mana slip away." She said with an ominous smile.

He shrugged trying to ignore it. He sat down cross legged on the platform as he began fighting against the push on his mana.

He slowly meditated as he gained more control over his mana. It was really exhausting, as his mana reserves had been decreased noticeably. Swat was running down his fore head and back as he concentrated more.

He finally relaxed a bit as his felt the push getting weaker. His control over his mana had gradually improved as he exerted greater effort and strengthened his connection to it.

The mana in his body had finally began stabilizing when he suddenly felt the push getting stronger.

Sorry for not publishing in the recent days. Have been pretty lazy with writing. But I will try to better.
