Interlude: The reactions

-------(when the exiled prince jumped down the ravine)------

Back at the entrance of the forest the first prince awaits the return of the assasins.

Five cloaked figures came out of the forest and kneeled before the prince.

The one in the middle spoke " It is done your highness. The boy is dead."

The prince gave an evil smile and said" Good that brat can no longer interfere with my plans. Here is your money for doing the job. And remember don't tell a soul of what happened." The prince handed over a sack filled with gold coins.

The assasins went on there way to their base while the prince went back to the capital.

-------------(3 days later)----------------

All the nobles and royalty with their one servant were in the throne room around a long table.

King Orion enters the room and sits at the head of the table.

Everyone becomes silent waiting for the king to speak. The king looks at everyone with an unreadable expression. Finally the king speaks up" I have news for everyone. I am sure that everyone has heard that the second prince has been exiled. What no one here knew was that I exiled my son not for the crime he was said to commit. There is proof that he is innocent. He was exiled to protect him. There is a war coming and I had a vision. He will be the hero we will need in our time of need. But he would be killed before he could grow strong enough. That is why I have exiled him." The king finishes speaking waiting for everybody to digest the information.

Waiting for a couple of minutes to see the reactions of everybody. There were only two people that had reactions to note.

The noble girl Vanessa. she was a bishop's daughter with bright blue hair that fell down her back, and beautiful eyes that seem to shine all the time.

And the other person was the kings other son. The first prince Jae.

The girl had a relieved expression and looked like a burden was taken off her shoulders. While his son looked angry. He was trying to hide it. The king couldn't blame him. He exiled his brother. The first prince has to be angry at him for doing that to his brother.

The king spoke up again to tell more news" In about five years he will awaken his powers and build allies to repel the demons. I was shown all this through a vision from the goddess. When he awakens it will be felt all over the world. That will be when the demon attacks will intensify. For now train as hard as you can for the upcoming war. Everybody here is dismissed."

And with that the king got up and left the room, leaving everybody to digest the information.

----------( 2 hours later in a secluded room of the castle)----------

"Alex! Alex! We have a problem! The boy lives! You said that he would die and I could become king!" The first prince yells hysterically

The cloaked figure named Alex sighs and looks up. In the cloak we can see a long black beard coming out of the hood and glowing red eyes that are glowing with hatred.

" A king you will become. But there is just one more thing you have to do for me." Alex spoke.

The first prince looks at him with an angry gaze. The prince calms down taking deep breaths and ask " What do I need to do?"

Alex stays silent before taking his hood off. Revealing the red scaly skin with two horns on top.

" Die." The demon stabs Jae through the heart with his hand killing him instantly. The demon then slowly liquefies before entering the corpse of the now dead prince.

" A king you will become. But not alive." The demon Alex, now in Jae's body laughs hysterically before stopping.

The demon leaves the room. The now possessed prince walks down the hallways of the castle, like nothing happened.
