Chapter 66: Egypt

The heat of Helios- Oh, wait, the heat of Ra's boat, that carried the sun, scorched down the flying black dragon form of Enychta. After the creamy disaster they had in which Enychta had to dive in the deep ocean to clean them, they flew for a few more hours until they arrived at the third biggest dessert of all time! The first one being the antarctic desert and the second one being the arctic desert, and the third and the one they arrived at: The Sahara Desert!

It took them some time flying through the African Continent till they arrived at Egypt, Enychta brought them to see the famous pyramids to satiate their curiosity, which was enormous since none of them ever left the U.S. Enychta, in his last life, had visited some countries and even learned some of their languages, but that is in the past!

Enychta thought it would be best if they went to the center of Egypt, the capital, to get information about where would the Gods of Egypt gather so they may go there and trade the Veil of the Night for the Veil of Secrets. Cairo was the capital of Egypt and also the biggest city of Egypt, and must he say... This place is beautiful!

And hot, too hot for his lovers... They weren't immune to fire and heat like he was, so he needed to find a way to cool them down. The best thing he found was to give them a shadow, his shadow, so they walked behind him because he was big and they weren't as much, which provided them some resemblance of shelter against the harsh sun that ruthlessly attacked them. It seemed worse for them, after all, they kinda invaded another Pantheon's region, even though most of them are sealed away... Well, at least Nyx told him Isis wasn't sealed away, which is good because she is the one they need to find.

Going through the streets of Cairo was not easy even when Enychta could read the basics of Arabic, a sentence ot two, he doesn't remember much because he learned this in his last life... His first idea was to go to a place of worship to the Goddess of Magic, Isis, but there was none because Egypt's main religion was Islamism and the second most practiced religion was Christianism... He could search for any hidden temple by the Mist, but the Mist is predominant in the regions where the Greek and Roman Pantheon are, or in this case Greece and Italy outside of the U.S...

Maybe they can find something. As they were approaching a hotel, Enychta decided to take both his lovers to somewhere else, he didn't like the stares they were receiving! He quickly turned around as his body was covered by a thin layer of Mana and Mist that he could summon, he applied and activated an enchantment on a cape of black silk he instantly created, covering their bodies and making them invisible. This was the following enchantment:

[Light]: Manipulate light on a small scale, producing or erasing light in a region, or even bend light to cause invisibility. This enchantment cannot be used to cause harm directly.

And because he was also covered in a thin layer of Mist, normal mortals wouldn't be able to see directly exactly what happened. They left immediately after, direction? Luke suggested: "We should look through the famous places, right? Pyramids, local attractions, and famous in general... Like where a lot of people go through because we are talking about Gods, they can hide in plain sight." It was a great idea, Enychta rewarded the boy with a kiss, which made Pruno smile as a joke left his lips: "Then we can look at the airport first since a lot of people come and go." His tone was jokingly, but something on his words reminded Eny of something...

He never read the Kanes Chronicles or something but he knew there were magicians all around the world and they are from Egypt, this sentence made him ponder, maybe there are magicians in Cairo the famous capital of Egypt too? Because a lot of people come and go from the airport as Pruno said, that opened up the opportunity to magically scan them to see if they have something on their person that is magically dangerous! That is what Enychta would do at least.

"Let's check out this airport..." But before they went check out the airport, Enychta kissed Pruno while telling him how smart he was for thinking about that.

With a sudden rush, he felt a weak glamour and magic bending around an individual that he knew nothing of. He never felt this person's magic signature even though he knew every single magic signature of those that entered the region of the First Nome, Cairo, Egypt. He was, after all, the Chief Lector for the First Nome and the entirety of the House of Life for 2 thousand years now... His old age did not stop him from keeping an eye out for things, Iskandar was his name, and he was born at the time Cleopatra the VII was ruling over Egypt, he watched as the Romans took over Egypt and blamed the Gods for it. He was bitter and decided that to keep the order in the world, he had to seal the Gods away to the Duat.

He was able to seal almost all the Gods, but Isis, who was able to avoid her fate because the day he tried to seal her, fled and waited till the day, her birthday, came. She used her powers and was able to create an isolated dimension for herself, in which she resides unknown to most magicians but Iskandar himself. However, no matter how strong he is, he can't break inside the dimension no matter how many times she tries, he is also getting old... Senile even, so he doesn't try anymore.

But he knows he has to seal her away.

And so he will.
