Birthday (1)

Prof. Shin sent investigators after her the day Alexa disappeared into thin air but found nothing particular about her life in the USA. The person never landed in the States from the plane.

The information they got about the buyer from the fashion houses also ended in a blind alley. All the addresses written there were fake or there were never any Alexa lived in the house.

They tried to search in the universities in the states but not knowing her stream of study it was upto no help. They got news of her visiting the orphanage a few times later but everytime there were no further traces left to look for.

The donations came by her name were issued through post dated cheques from a bank in the USA. The bank was private and refused to reveal it's client's affairs.

The person just melted into thin air. As if she never existed at all what made him more suspicious.

Meanwhile they could feel something was changing about Yang after all these time. The changes they longed for to see. Yang was finally coming back to life.

After the accident Yang went into a ten months long coma. Since the day of recovery he had somehow lost his interest in everything except studies. His main target was to get into the too notch medical school in the country. He left his home and settled down at his aunt's i.e. at the Shin's.

The previous Yang was ever joyful, non-stop talkative , mischievous and full of life. The accident and therefore the long comatose condition had somehow changed his entire personality and his view towards life. He had become a sort of dead persona living inside a body with no emotions or no life at all.

Mr. and Mrs. Shin tried hard to bring him back to life but failed.

But, right after the fresher's party night Mrs. Shin as well as Prof. Shin could feel little by little their old Yang was coming back to life. They were pleased to see his smile again.

.

Yang started going out with Kun, their adopted son, began to play basketball. He even began to accompany Kia, their adopted daughter to her piano classes and got himself admitted there.

The two kids were happy for finally getting back their old big brother. Kia and Kun, the kids missed their big brother the most. Now, as their old big brother was back it was time for getting compansation for the lost time. They never left his side. Yang had to follow them to the amusement park, had to make arrangements for their birthday parties.

Mrs. Shin now had only one wish left.. " When will that brat make a girlfriend?" 🤔

"Pfft.." The professor would smile at her worried face. He couldn't control laughing seeing her in that state.

Mrs. Shin : " You are laughing..!! 😑 even you couldn't find a girl for him. Now you are laughing at me!! Unlike you at least I'm trying.!"

Prof. Shin had a hard time controlling his laughter.

" How was the girl You saw the other day? " He suddenly asked his wife taking a sip of the coffee.

"Which one...?? That girl....? From the fresher's ?? What was her name again??... I forgot...But... there is something about her... She is really nice. Those paintings... my goodness...! I wonder how famous she would be if those were exhibited outside..." Mrs. Shin praised the paintings she saw during annual exhibition of the college.

" But.. she is a little mystery to me. to solve"

" How so? " Prof. Shin stole a glance of her facial expressions before sipping on the coffee " Does she still remind you of her? "

Mrs. Shin nodded " You feel it too right? "

Prof. Shin kept on sipping on the cup looking at the news channel.

"You know Mother Reverend told that day She regularly sends donations on each children's birthday without a miss." Mrs. Shin took the cup in her hand from the tea table.

" Yeah. I heard it too. She never misses a day. Maybe she doesn't want to disclose her identity you know." The Professor again tried to avoid the topic from discussing further. "They are two entirely different persons.. we found the prove right?..." ' Or maybe not' The rest didn't find a way out of his throat.

"Hope so. There are lots of similar looking persons in the world. By the way this girl is nice too." Mrs. Shin replied.

" What do you think of her...umm ... you know... with our Yang...?" Professor. Shin hesitated slightly before disclosing the matter.

" Hey.. what do you mean by that? Is there something going on I don't know about?" Mrs. Shin was excited as ever. "Is Yang taking an interest to her..?"

"Those two stubborns. I guess they haven't exchanged a word in these years. It's time to introduce them properly ." She excitedly started planning after seeing her husband's smile.

"I was thinking the same! They are really silly. How about a surprise meeting between the two? " Prof. Shin suggested.

" Is that girl a apprentice of you? " Mrs. Shin seemed to be doubtful Knowing her husband's nature. He didn't like those students who always try to gain fame from his name and connection. So, it was really impossible for that girl to be close to him.

" Well..I can make an exception for our Yang." Prof. Shin mischievously winked at his wife.

" I love you hubby. You are the best." Mrs. Shin suddenly hugged her husband acting like their teenager days.

Prof. Shin hugged her back. It was rare to see her acting this childishly.

" How about my birthday next month?" Prof. Shin asked.

" Sounds good. I'll ask Yang to come positively." Mrs. Shin nodded. " Yang never says 'no' to Kia and Kun."

" I'll try to bring her then." the professor agreed.

Somewhere in the hospital, Yang and Lina sneezed together. Everyone present there looked at them surprised at the unusual timing. They excused themselves embarrassingly. Unknown to our hero and heroine, Who were now busy discussing cases in the ward, the old couple laid out a trap for them. What's gonna happen now?
