Annoying Neighbor (1)

Revisiting childhood is always sweet.

It had been a source of ultimate happiness for Lina.

Her face was full of the warmth she felt remembering some funny childhood moments. They had a fabulous childhood.

Lina was still lying on her bed surfing through the album. When repeated ringing of the door bell snapped her back from the past. Lina was annoyed to hell. Like seriously who wants to be disturbed by bell during such beautiful mornings. 😑

The sleepy head Lina was still yawning and hand combing her hair into a messy bun. She abruptly got up breaking her sweet moment and walked towards the door, still cladding in night clothes.

She was going to make hell out of the intruder. ' How dare whoever it is? '

Lina was fuming in anger like a little wild kitten.

She was in the mood to teach a hell of a lesson to the person who dared to destroy her sweet morning moments.

So immediately after opening the door she began talking in her sleepy hoarse voice without looking in front "Who the hell are ....!"

But the rest of the Words couldn't see the light of the day further as there was none she found none at the doorstep.

She was stunned for a bit and questioned herself "Am I hallucinating too much nowadays ?? "

For the last few days Lina was having this hunch about someone is watching her closely or following her. She was cautious about her way to home and surrounding. But found nothing.

And now this incident in the morning made her go nuts. Was she being paranoid?

Lina checked her surroundings well and finally turned to get inside the door then suddenly, She felt something touching her foot.

She bent to see what is bothering her way and surprisingly found a little decorated package with a note lying on the ground.

Lina was amused by the sight. The packet was way too beautifully decorated to be true. She picked it up and unfolded the note.

" Hey dear neighbor,

Good morning.

Hope you have a great day!

Sorry for disturbing your precious morning sleep.

But couldn't help myself to wait for the day! I'm truly sorry for yesterday's ruscus.

I just moved here. Hope we'll get along well.

Here is some welcoming gift for you.

Hope it will match your taste. And also once again I'm so sorry about yesterday's chaos. Bella ciao. 😊

Lina stared at the letter with disbelief in her eyes for a brief moment of time.

"Is he for real ? "

Lina asked herself reluctantly. She found this new guy quite funny and interesting. He had apologized already yesterday and without any embarrassment Lina admitted in her mind that she enjoyed the whole meal last night.

Not only the main course, the side dishes were of amazing taste. As expected of such fancy restaurant.

The foodie Lina could not help herself from taking glances inside the package.

The curious Lina immediately unwrapped the package on her way to the sofa.

" What? .. wait!... No way!!!"

She was utterly taken aback after opening the package.

There was a beautiful rectangular box made of galss inside it.

In the middle of the box, there was a small cactus tree. It was surrounded by black, grey and white colored stones.

Lina was awestruck at the sight. It was too good to be true type situation for her.

She was fond of raising different kinds of cactuses which came to her from her father, Nanxian Park.

Back in the states Lina and her father had a huge collection of ordinary and rare type of 🌵 cactuses in the backyard of their home.

Sometimes, the father and daughter duo would spend the whole day taking care of those 'precious' plants.

Her mother Isha and Rini, her younger sister used to complain a lot about their obsession with cactus.

There was this joke running in the family that if there was any calamity occurred in their locality Lina and Nanxian would run to save those plants rather than saving themselves.

Lina couldn't help smiling from remembering those days.

She remembered how Nanxian himself packed the plants each in folders and made special arrangements to bring them in C-country when they moved here.

Nanxian even made special cars to bring them to their compartment. Later when the cactuses were planted in the garden of their house, he even appointed special gardeners just to look after them.

Nanxian and Lina herself took the interview of that appointment.

Isha and Rini still joked about it during their family dinner.

The cactus gifted by her Neighbor brought back so many memories.

Lina was surprised to find another folded card inside it.

The card was addressed to her... or rather say.. It was addressed to 'Lina'...

" Dear Miss Park,

Yesterday while moving into my new room I had already created enough disturbances but none the less I exceeded it with my bad habit of late night music session then too in the balcony.

I know I had disturbed your sleep though you didn't complain at all.

I'm thankful to you for that and ashamed of myself too.

Since then it made me restless. No offense please. Don't take me as a pervert or something. I Know I'm talking silly but it really made me restless. I don't know how to apologize to you for my behavior.

As you already know,

In Greek, "Lina" (Λίνα) means "sunlight",

In Arabic "Lina" (لينة) means "tender" or "tenderness".

In Chinese, "Li" (丽) means "pretty" and "Na" (娜) means "elegant".

In Persian it means "light", "a ray of sunlight" or "pretty girl".

I don't know the real meaning behind your name but yesterday when I saw your name in the letter box it reminded me of one of my favorite memories.

And this plant is related to them. So I thought of giving you this.

It is a gift from me , as an apology and for further scope of interaction with my new neighbor.

I'm really sorry for my behavior Miss Park.
