Chapter 9: The Call, Ritual, and Jooby.

Solomon took time to relax and think about everything critically. Going back through all that was written down about House elves Solomon found a small loophole that might work.

Instead of saying "free house elves" Solomon wanted to try with all house elves. There might be a house that responds to him from Hogwarts as they could permanently terminate working at Hogwarts if a family was found. He remembered that goofy house elf named Dobby, Solomon guessed he stayed at Hogwarts after leaving the Malfoy Family due to the ambient magic in the school. It was the only bet Solomon had.

Solomon proceeded to wait 30 minutes taking a small break, as the first call was taxing on his body. Repeating this process he took the first time, Solomon willed his magic. Taking out his wand he shouted, "Are there any house elves looking for a family to serve?"

As he finished the call, his body was drenched in sweat. Breathing rapidly he collapsed on the bed. While he waited Solomon wondered if changing the way the call was made would work or if he failed once more.

*pop*

"Yous be needing Jooby?" A House elve questioned a little too excited. Taking a quick look at the house elf named Jooby Solomon thought he looked a little young. There were not as many wrinkles as he saw in the movies, with his ear pointed slightly up. He was wearing a black pillowcase.

Solomon pulled out his wand and was thankful that Jooby did not pop away or attack him. Solomon gave him a quick nob trying to reassure the house elf and tossed a quick Insulatas.

"Hello, Jooby my name is Solomon and I want a house elf to bond with me and my family," Solomon told the House elf, slowly and patiently hoping to catch any tell from him.

"Yous be needing House elf?" asked Jooby not really understanding my point.

"Do you have a family Jooby and where are you working now?" asked Solomon as he wanted to get a scope of Jooby's working conditions.

"Jooby has no family, Jooby bes working at Hoogywarts," Jooby said the first part a bit sadly and then puffed out his chest when he mentioned Hogwarts.

"If you are working Jooby why did you come here?" Solomon questioned confusingly.

"When Yous be calling any free elf, Jooby not allowed to go. Jooby bes working at Hoogywarts. Jooby no free," Jooby answered with his lack of descriptive words making the situation more complicated.

"Okay, Jooby but why come now?" Solomon wanted to see where this was going.

"Because Master Solly's magic bes nice, Master Solly's magic makes me happy," Jooby said jumping side to side on his feet.

Not knowing where this conversation was even going Solomon stopped the young elf from breaking a hole through the ground. Solomon asked him the most crucial question:

Jooby do you want to be my house elf?

Without even hesitating for a second, Jooby broke down into tears. "Jooby bes Master Solly's house elf!" Jooby replied passionately.

"Are you sure Jooby? Do you want to leave Hogwarts to work for me?" Solomon asked carefully hoping to let the house elf understand that working for him was permanent.

"Yes, Master Solly! Jooby bes working at Hoogywarts since Jooby was a baby. Jooby wanting a family. Jooby bes wanting to be a good elf." Jooby clarified.

"Great Jooby! Now tell me how do we bond?" asked Solomon nodding happily.

"Jooby bes showing Master Solly," Jooby said taking hold of Solomon's hand and placing it on his bony head.

"Master bes saying Jooby Master Solly house elf," Jooby informed Solomon.

Solomon sent out his magic and decreed seriously:

I, Solomon, do take Jooby as my Loyal house elf. Shall he show me care, I shall bestow upon him the same. Shall he treat me with respect, I shall bestow upon him the same. Shall he protect me. I shall bestow upon him protection, Till the day I grow old or die - As I will, thus it shall be.

As magic began to swirl Jooby's pale grayish skin turned a bit rosy and tears began to pour down his face.

"Master Solly bes the greatest Master, Jooby will bes good house elf!" Jooby said proudly between tears of happiness.

Patting the young house elf on the shoulder, Solomon tried to calm him down.

"Okay now, Jooby let's calm down," Solomon said finally getting the elf to calm down.

They looked at each other at eye level. It was a comical scene where a five-year-old and a house elf stared at each other. Their heights are quite close with Solomon being a tiny bit taller.

As a smile crept on Solomons's face as one drew on Jooby's.

Hahahahah.

Ohohoho.

They both broke into laughter, Solomon grabbed Jooby's hands as he swung them in circles laughing their asses off until they grew tired.

* * *

"Well, that was fun right Jooby?" Solomon asked with a smile.

"Fun fun Master Solly, Jooby bes happy to have family," Jooby said with joy.

"Same here Jooby, same here…" Solomon said reminiscing about his mum.

"Jooby do you have any family in Hogwarts?" asked Solomon.

Jooby instantly deflated and tears started to leak out again, "No Master Solly, Jooby's mama bes die a year ago," replied Jooby crying hysterically now.

"Sorry, Jooby. My mother also left me a year ago," answered Solomon.

"Master Solly Yous mama be die?" Jooby asked screaming.

"I don't know Jooby," Solomon replied too real that he choked up.

Waving his hand, Solomon wanted to get past this topic, "Jooby what did you do at Hogwarts?"

"Jooby bes cleaning and cooking!" he replied puffing out his chest.

"Awesome Jooby! I have a task for you tomorrow," Solomon said as he thought about the amount of stuff in his trunk.

Bringing out his trunk, Solomon motioned Jooby to follow as he made his way in.

"Ooooooooooh Master Solly Yous be having a magical case," Jooby said cheerfully.

"Yes, Jooby let's make some dinner in the kitchen, and then we can rest for the night," Solomon said.

Making their way to the kitchen, Solomon was about to grab his apron when Jooby shouted, "Master Solly Yous be no cooking, Jooby job to cook!"

Solomon was about to retort but stopped himself when he saw the resolve in Jooby's eyes.

"Okay Jooby, I'll be in the dining room," Solomon said making his way to the library first and grabbing a book.

After some while, Jooby brought out some pasta with sauce and some tasting-looking fried chicken.

"Here Yous food Master Solly," said Jooby ecstatically.

Waiting for his master to take a bite Jooby, stood off to the side.

But Solomon waited until Jooby could not take it anymore, "Master Solly not bes eating Jooby's food? Food bes getting cold!" Jooby said clearly aggravated.

"Grab yourself a plate Jooby, and eat at the table with me," Solomon said with a tone of authority.

"Jooby can not, Jooby bes good house elf. Jooby cannot eat with the master!" Said Jooby shaking his head.

"Oh is that it? I thought I was family Jooby? Do family not eat together? Or do they eat in different areas?" questioned Solomon intrigued as to how the elf would respond.

Jooby's face contorted as he struggled to find an answer, with deflated shoulders, Jooby responded, "Family bes eating together."

"Good Jooby, now grab yourself a plate and let's eat the food is getting cold," Solomon replied merrily.

*pop* *pop*

With a pop back and forth Jooby brought out a plate of pasta and chicken. And tried to sit on the floor.

"No, you don't Jooby. Remember family eats together. Now come on and bring your food up to the table," Solomon said while giggling.

Jooby huffed and puffed as he made his way to the table clearly not enjoying it as much as Solomon.

Taking a bite out of the food which was delicious, Solomon hardly had time to chew. The call of a house elf plus the ritual was taxing his body. While feasting he complimented Jooby, "Jooby you are an excellent cook!"

Solomon ate more and more barely paying attention to Jooby.

Jooby put his head down not knowing how to respond to Solomon's compliment and ate thinking 'bad Master Solly makes Jooby eat at the table', but his red ears and blush gave away his most inner thoughts…

Solomon finally got a house elf and the story is picking up. We finally have a companion to go on the journey with Solomon!

Please comment on how the story is going so far and what does not make sense yet. I will address the concerns by going back and re-reading to make any changes or corrections.
