It happened today.

Scientists find a solar storm that somehow has enough energy to singlehandedly and utterly destroy the only important blue habitable planet in the solar system.

They knew destruction was near but with a cursed barrier trapping them on earth they were trapped scared they worked their socks off to realise the barrier will block it for now they had to build a mirror but too much resources were required.

So they really had to do the impossible and break the unbreakable barrier and quickly escape earth before it's too late.
