Well, mental attacks wouldn't work on me anyway.

While it looks cool, they surely don't use staffs just for show.

Then the staff must certainly have functions.

"There are three major functions of wands. The first is amplification."

Amplification means that when I input 10 units of mana, it produces 12, 15, or more magical effects.

Naturally, higher quality staffs amplify mana more.
