Chapter 47

“I didn’t know you were Dylan’s little brother.”

“And I didn’t know you worked with him,” Chris said. “Would it have mattered?”

“No.”

“We still became friends.” Chris traced James’s lips with his finger. “I felt like I’d known you forever.”

“It still took me a long time to admit how I felt, though.”

Chris kissed James’s shoulder. “It’s scary going from friends to lovers.”

“I’m glad we did,” James whispered.

With a brush of his fingers over James’s lips, Chris smiled, then deeply kissed him. 24

The next morning, Chris stepped out of the shower and stole a glance at James as he soaped up under the hot spray. He grabbed a towel from the rack and dried off, then went to the bedroom where he laid down on the bed and cooled off. The sun lit the room and his stomach growled. He knew it was late in the morning and they had places to be, but he didn’t care. It was nice being alone with James. If only every morning could be this way.
