“I have to look at him as a suspect,” Dylan said calmly.

“Why?” Chris said. “He doesn’t have anything to do with this.”

“It’s a game, Chris,” Dylan said, standing up straight. “What if part of it is finding out how close the killer was this whole time?”

Chris scoffed. “The fact that there are corrupt cops doesn’t mean that James is a murderer.”

Dylan said, “A corrupt cop could twist the case.”

“And Skinner is his partner,” Ron said. “He has to know that Skinner is up to something, and if he’s not reporting it, then he must be a part of it.”

“Skinner could be hiding this from him,” Chris said, glaring at Dylan. “You’re just jealous of James because he’s smart and plays by the rules.”

Dylan walked away from him, running his hand over his face before he turned to Chris. “Everyone is a suspect right now.”
