“We need you to come down to the station.”
“What for?”
“Just a follow up.”
“Okay.” He sighed. “I’ll be there in about thirty minutes.”
He ended the call, then dialed James and got voice mail, so he sent a text.
I’ve been called to the station. What’s going on?
He needed to get hold of Dylan and Ron. James had been burdened this morning and Chris suspected it was because he was going to be questioned. The police were up to something, and Chris didn’t have a good feeling about it.
Chris slid his phone into his pocket, then picked up the pens and put them back in their place. He grabbed his keys, then left his office and went to Carol’s desk. “I’ve been called to the police station. I may just go home after that.”
Carol frowned. “Is something wrong?”
“I hope not.”
“Keep me posted.”
