Chapter 22
“Garoutte was a person of interest before,” James said. “I think we need to look at him again.”
“What about other suspects?” Chris asked. “Did you look at Travis?”
“We’re looking at him.”
“And Bart Nolan? He’s been involved in this.”
James’s jaw tightened. “Yes.”
“With Dylan and Ron, is all the evidence against them really that solid?”
James said, “We have pictures of them at the scene with the victim and we found her blood in the Tahoe.”
Chris rolled away from James and then laid a hand over his eyes.
James propped himself on his side and gently pulled Chris’s hand away.
“They’re innocent,” Chris said.
James nodded. “Everyone is innocent until proven guilty.”
Chris shook his head. “It doesn’t seem like anyone believes that they’re innocent.”
James looked into his eyes as he held Chris’s hand to his chest. “Then let’s find out who really is guilty.”
