Chapter 33❣️34

DARREN'S POV

The pain I'm feeling right now is next to h@ll. I'm losing control of my body. It's like my insides are on fire.

I looked up, everyone seems to be in a state of panic. My vision is fading and I can't hear anything.

Everywhere slowly goes dark. I'm back in the void of my subconsciousness. It's darker than the last time. I couldn't see anything but endless space.

Suddenly a weird sensation hits me and I'm suddenly pulled back. I feel something soft pressing against my lips.

My vision clears up and I see Avia, her lips on mine and tears rolling down her cheeks. She disengaged slowly before stepping back. Like a flash, my hearing suddenly returns and the sounds of screeching filled my ears. The worst creature is standing in my palace... Maleficent!

LAUREN'S POV

Darren seems to have regained his senses and he looks absolutely livid.

I turn my gaze to Anaya whose eyes reflected a mix of sorrow and anger. She dropped her hand and the barrier breaks.

Anaya! I screamed but it was no use, she looked like she had lost all her senses. She stood there like a living dead.

The ghouls charged towards us with full force but then they all started freezing up one after the other.

It was Darren! His eyes glowed bright blue and his aura changed. He waved his hand and a strong force shattered the ghouls who were frozen into pieces.

We all moved behind him. Not because we were scared of the ghouls but because we don't want to be caught up in Darren's bloodbath.

He made a sword out of ice and it was covered with fire. He charged at them slashing them into shreds.

With one slash, he severed the heads of ten ghouls at once. Blood splashed everywhere. Nightingale covered us with a barrier so that our dresses won't get stained in this bloodbath.

DARREN'S POV

I haven't had this much fun in years. Seeing heads roll in my presence will now be checked off my to do list* smirk *

I sight Maleficent retreating. Coward! I won't let you go so easily.

I released a torrent of fire and watched how all the ghouls melted in it's scorching heat.

I go after Maleficent. I increase my pace and launch a fire ball at her but she deflected it.

As I arrived at the entrance, Derek and Calix were fighting off more ghouls. Calix is bleeding profusely. There is a hole in his chest.

How dare she? She dared to lay a finger on him. I encased all of the ghouls in ice and launch a fire ball, this time bigger than the last. She tried to dodge it but it got a huge part of her arm.

I launch another one but she opens a portal and flees. Damnit!!

I walk towards Calix and he has a smile on his face despite his condition. You are really amazing when you use your powers to do something other than to pester me, he says and I punch him in the gut.

Owww, I'm hurt here you monster, he says cheekily. I place a fire ball on his chest and he absorbs it using it to heal himself. Benefits of being a fire phoenix.

CALIX'S POV

Darren is cold-hearted but not heartless, contrary to what others might think. Only a few people understand him.

He shared his fire energy with me so that I could heal faster. Although, the punch was unnecessary * tsk *

Thanks for having my back! I say to Derek and he nods. He throws Darren a spiteful glare before walking away.

I noticed that Darren is drenched in blood. Well, I'm not better. Everywhere in the palace is a testimony of what happened today.

Darren sights the sleeping guards and immediately he conjured up little flames that rested on their butts setting it on fire.

They all jolted up instantly running up and down trying to put out the fire that was hurting their behinds. I couldn't help but laugh my guts out.

Darren walked back towards the ballroom but I stayed behind to watch the show.

DEREK'S POV

I walk into the ballroom and bodies are lying everywhere. Lauren was shaking Anaya who looked like she was in a state of shock.

I noticed Avia at the side, holding her bleeding arm. I rush towards her.

How did this happen? I ask her but she doesn't reply.

Lord Darren did this to her,...what a bold move lynx, Nightingale said with a slight smile as she approached us.

She used her powers to heal Avia's hand. She stared at Avia's palm for a while before looking up at her face.

I knew you looked familiar. You keep igniting the past. I hope you can handle the consequences, she says to Avia who is looking as puzzled as I am

Nightingale walks a distance and meets Darren who was coming in. She bows her head respectfully before vanishing into thin air.

What did she mean by what she said? What is going on?

Lauren pulls Anaya away with her. I noticed Avia's gaze was locked with Darren's.

The gaze seemed to hold a lot of emotions. I grab her hand quickly and pull her away with me.

I pull her all the way to the garden. I can't let her slip away from me, I think I love her.

She cannot have feelings for Darren, Never!

MALEFICENT'S POV

Arrrggghhh!!!!!! How did everything go wrong? I planned everything perfectly. Why did it fail!!!!!!! Arrrggghhh!!!!

This whole place is disheveled but it doesn't match the chaos I wanted to inflict on Darren's life.

I couldn't even kill anyone, I barely made a dent. What a pathetic excuse for an attack, argh!!

I couldn't get the lynx, nor did I get my revenge on Darren. What was the use?

He mocked me by laying waste to my army of ghouls. He even managed to scratch me. He keeps insulting me every single time.

I won't take this lying down. That lynx seems to hold a special place in your heart. I'll break you using that little kitty cat. I'll destroy you Darren, I'll destroy you!!!!

LAUREN'S POV

Anaya hasn't said anything since Avia kissed Darren. To be honest, I am not okay with it. The guts to place her lips on royalty.

But why did Darren suddenly respond to her touch? I don't understand anything. That lynx is nothing but trouble.

I think I need to send her away before Anaya goes crazy or before something wrong happens

ANAYA'S POV

They kissed! She kissed him and he came back to normal.

When I called out to him, it had no effect but she had an effect on him.

Why!!!! I snap angrily and Lauren flinches.

Why is that low grade pussy pulling Darren closer to her. Who the hell does she think she is??!!!!

Did you see what happened there today? Arrrggghhh! I scream angrily

I accidentally stubbed my toe on the bed stand. Ouch! I yelped, clutching my throbbing toe.

I suppose you are going to blame Avia for this too. Grow up Anaya! Lauren sneers and walks into the bathroom.

AVIA'S POV

Derek keeps pulling me until we reach the garden. He released a sigh, pushing his hair back.

What's wrong? I ask him seeing how frustrated he looks. He turns to me and walks closer, too close for comfort.

Suddenly he pins me to a tree and kisses me. His lips claim mine roughly.

I tried to struggle free but he's too strong. I tried to scream... Big mistake.

He seizes the opportunity to push his tongue in sucking on it.

Out of nowhere, Darren appears and uses his powers to hurl Derek away although he ( Derek ) landed on his feet.

Darren's eyes are glowing bright yellow and the leaves around are incinerated into ashes.

He pulls me to his side staring at Derek with bloodshot eyes... How dare you touch her!!!!!
