Chapter 8: New Look Shohoku.

At the Locker.

Coach Anzai was giving his strategy to the players and told them to go out there and give their 100%.

The Shohoku runs out of the dugout and exploded into the court. The crowd were excited to see and watch Kaede Rukawa and Hanamichi Sakuragi again.

[SPECTATOR #4: You rock! Red Head!.]

[SPECTATOR #5: KYA! RUKAWA!.]

[SPECTATOR #6: SAKURAGI! KING OF REBOUND!.]

Many people have come to watch Shohoku's Monsterous Duo in Kaede Rukawa and Hanamichi Sakuragi. And during their warm up, Takezono's Freshman Guard, Takehiro Date gets their ball who went to the Shohoku's side. Miyagi, grabs the ball and pass it to Takehiro, both guards stare at each other and Takehiro said to Miyagi….

[TAKEHIRO: I'm going to win in our battle, Senpai.]

After Takehiro said that he runs back to their court and Miyagi was silently getting mad and wants the game to start already because he wants to tear Takehiro apart.

The crowd became rowdy as the Kainan who just played earlier was watching the game and beside was the last year's captain, Shinichi Maki who is playing for Shintai University, Japan's #1 University.

The game was now about to starts. Both starters from each team have come to the center court, form a line and greeted each other.

[SPECTATOR #7: Look, Shohoku got another big guy.]

[SPECTATOR #8: You're right.]

Referee blew the whistle and threw the ball in the air and both Daichi and Oda jumps, Daichi wins the jump ball and Miyagi quickly runs down to the basket and scores an easy layup.

[MIYAGI: What did you say, earlier?.]

[TAKEHIRO: The game has only began, Senpai.]

Takehiro brings the ball down to their court, and he is surveying the movements of his teammates. He passes it to the left wing to Keita. Keita gets the ball and Shota went ahead and pressed him in the corner.

[MAKI: Your brother is being aggressive, Shoichiro.]

[SHOICHIRO: Yeah.]

Keita, barely escaped the pressure from Shota and attacked the basket but he immediately hesitated to jump as he saw Daichi inside the paint. Keita realized that Oda was wide open and he bounce it the ball to Oda. Oda jumps and shoots the ball but Sakuragi came out of nowhere to block his shot, and the crowd went crazy.

[SPECTATOR #7: THERE HE IS!.]

[SPECTATOR #4: SAKURAGI!.]

[SAKURAGI: Yahahaha….. you're not going to get any easy point here, Oda!.]

[ODA: Sakuragi….]

Miyagi was running fast and he spotted Shota in the right corner and throws a left handed pass to Shota. Shota catches the ball, and as he shoots, his calm and relaxed shooting form was in display and as soon as the ball released from his fingers. The beautiful follow throw from his hand was simply beautiful to watch.

The ball swishes into the net and Shohoku already scored 5 in just under few possessions.

SHOHOKU: 5

TAKEZONO: 0

1st Half 19:32

Takehiro took a deep breath and then gets the ball back from Keita, Takehiro attacked the left side but Miyagi cut his route, Takehiro take back. Miyagi steals the ball from Takehiro, Miyagi dribbling the ball fast, Rukawa was running behind him. Miyagi throw a pass from behind and Rukawa gets the ball, Rukawa jumps and dunk the ball hard with one hand.

SHOHOKU: 7

TAKEZONO: 0

1st Half 19:13

[SPECTATOR #1: How did he see Rukawa? Does he have an eye on the back of his head?.]

[SPECTATOR #2: Miyagi is so fast, and the way he see his teammates are very impressive!.]

[MAKI: Miyagi is now getting the recognition he deserved.]

[COACH TAKATO: Plus, he is getting great at communicating with his teammates with just a look.]

At the court.

Takehiro, pass the ball to Oda at the left post, Oda backing down Daichi. Oda spins to the left side, Oda jumps and shoots under the basket.

[SAKURAGI: FLY SWATTER!.]

Sakuragi comes out of nowhere again and blocks the shot of Oda. Shota gets the rebound and forward pass to Miyagi, Miyagi runs fast down and Miyagi dribblies to the left. Takehiro is doing a great job defending Miyagi but he forgot that he is the only that runs down fast in the defense and Keita was behind Sakuragi. Miyagi pass the ball to Sakuragi.

[SAKURAGI: Commoner Shot!.]

Sakuragi goes for a layup and scores. Takezono takes this chance and hope to get a basket. But, Rukawa stopped them and Miyagi gets the ball from him. Miyagi dribbling the ball and then he waited for Rukawa to get into a position.

Miyagi pass the ball to him, Rukawa in the left wing, he is being guarded by Osamu Sasaki. Rukawa attacked the left side, Osamu runs to stop him. Rukawa jumps, Osamu and Oda jumps along. Rukawa then drops a pass to Daichi in the middle.

[NOBUNAGA: WHAT?!.]

[MAKI: That was great.]

Daichi dunk the ball with two hands and the stadium was cheering the Shohoku.

SHOHOKU: 11

TAKEZONO: 0

1st Half 18:46

[RUKAWA: You need to get back on defense fast, Idiot.]

[SAKURAGI: Shut up, you fox!.]

[DAICHI: Here they come, Senpai's.]

[MIYAGI: Don't let them go easily, Shota.]

[SHOTA: Yes, Captain.]

The people who were there watching the first game of the New Look Shohoku was excited to see that Shohoku became a team that can bring excitement to the crowd.
