Chapter 77: Miss Knight

Leonard’s eyes nearly popped out of his face when he heard her words.

“Pardon the f*ck out of me… What do you mean you’re not going back out in the field? You’re needed!” a dumbfounded Sensei said to Siren, who couldn’t even look him in the eye.

“Needed? I was a joke in that castle! The Queen completely threw me off my game and did it without breaking a sweat,” said Siren. “How am I going to fight back against her, her servants, and an entire army of Wretched!?”

“The same way you made it this far in your journey; through determination.” Leo began. “Look Siren, I know you’ve hit a rough spot and that you’re tired…”

“I’m beyond tired, Sensei,” Siren interrupted him with tears streaming from her face. “I feel so… lifeless. Everything that I worked towards and all the effort I put into becoming something important in this world… it all came crashing down in a matter of minutes! How am I supposed to get back out there? How am I supposed to go on?”
