Chapter 61: Just Beat It

The rattling force of her adversary’s footprint being shoved into her chest caused Siren to stumble backwards into the elevator wall and slide down it. “Sh*t,” she grunted through the pain while keeping her guitar at her side.

A focused Maximus looked over his shoulder to make sure Roman remained on the ground before stepping into the elevator to finish Siren off. “Almost didn’t recognize you tonight,” he said with his Taser pointed at her face. “But you’re not escaping me this time.”

Refusing to give Max the opportunity to take her out once and for all, Siren swung her guitar with a newfound sense of urgency. The dull side of it smacked the Taser out of his hand and into the corner of the elevator. Fighting for her life, Siren made it back to her feet and charged at Max with the guitar’s neck pressed up against his. Pinning him up against the elevator buttons, the scream queen accidentally caused the elevator to close and descend. “Who said I was tryna run, b*tch boy?”
