Chapter 24: A New Day Has Come

Meusor, Donnera, Tuloc, Wintara, and Montiria all exchanged looks of pride for their child as Logan slowly kneeled before his Lords. Sweat and blood slowly dripped from his rich skin while he made an eager attempt to catch his breath.

Wintara cuffed her fingers and gently held her hands together. “Brother, are we ready?” she said to Meusor with a sigh of relief. The God of Life responded with a small grin as he turned his attention to the subjects of his kingdom.

Siren finally made it to the edge of the pool and placed her guitar on the steps first. With no help from the other distracted angels around her, she slowly climbed over the barricade and into the crowd. The spiritually defeated angel made it to her feet as a puddle of her failure formed around her. Carrying the unbearable weight of eyelids filled with the saltiest of tears, she looked around and was thankful that no one was focused on her in this time of defeat.
