Volume 6 Epilogue

I ignored the pain in my stomach as I sliced of my opponent's head. Gyuki's chakra was already healing me. I have used Re: seal for about fifty six times by now. As far as I remember, we started our fighting in morning. I don't know the exact time but I have feeling that it's already after noon. My opponents ? Kakuzu and Hidan. The Zombie duo or more like the annoying duo.

Kakuzu only had one heart left and he was more focused on retreating. But Hidan didn't fear his death so attacked me recklessly.

Both of them were given S rank status for a reason. Kakuzu had to die multiple times before he finally dies for real. And Hidan was very annoying to fight with his aggressive fighting style and immortal body. It was very annoying to fight him. Kakuzu focuses on mid and long ranged combat while Hidan was a close combatant.

So all in all annoying and deadly.

I quickly sealed away a cursing head of Hidan and dodged another wind canon from Kakuzu.

He was on his last legs while I was completely fine. Or to outside, I was completely fine. Re: seal is amazing. It's a time type seal. But it has some limitations. It turns back time on my body with respect to the outside world. It's a great trumph card in a fight in which I can bring back my body to its peak condition.

But in a long drawn out battle like this, it has it's draw backs. The seal uses a massive amount of chakra and has a cool down time. I mean technically it doesn't need any cool down time. But my body needs a cool down time to apply it again.

And in a long time battle like this, I can't use it too many times continuously. So I am currently suffering from a few of my internal injuries that has been dealt on me recently. Especially one nasty blow to my lower abdomen.

How did I got into a situation like this ?

Well it's actually a very short story.

After diplomatic talks of mutual co-operation with the Kazekage, when I was about to leave the land of wind along with the Genins, an emergency mission was sent to me by the hokage to assist a leaf team near the border of the land of fire and the land of waterfall.

And when I reached the scene, the entire team had been slaughtered by two missing nins. Not only that, there were another two dead shinobis from hidden waterfall village. And an unconcious Fuu, the seven tails Jinjuriki.

Well, anyone with a half decent brain can figure out what happened next.

The duo attacked me and I retaliated. But they pissed me off when they laughed after burning the body of the dead kunoichi from leaf. It wasn't out of cameradery. But it was basic humanity. And now, Hidan is incapacitated.

I again switched places near Kakuzu, and started fighting him with Ichimonji.

My hits delivered damage even if they didn't land on their mark . Just as he showed an opening I rushed in with Ichimonji. But I was secretly controlling Surume as well.

As I suspected it was a trap. But with my reflexes I was able to block the attack. But he couldn't block the strike from his back. Surume has peirced through his heart.

This time I checked thoroughly that he actually died.

After confirming his death I sealed away his body in a scroll and fell down on my knees.

Those were two S ranks but their teamwork was on a whole other level. Even though they hated each other they were able to out manuver me in this fight. After the andrenaline from the fight weared of I finally felt the true pain. It might be more severe than I thought. I should have retreated. But taking out these two was important.

Just when I started to stand up, my instincts screamed at me. Trusting then I leaped away from my spot. But I couldn't dodge the attack completely. It pierced my lower abdomen. My eyes widened.

'Some one is able to sneak up on me inside my barrier !'

Clutching my bleeding abdomen, I looked at the attacker but it went underground grabbing the Jinjuriki. I just had a glimpse of the attacker.

'Zetsu !'

I decided to return to leaf. It wasn't safe out there. Quickly sealing away the corpses of the leaf shinobi, I switched position directly inside the Hokage tower. I can't use Re: seal right now. It will only cause more harm to my body. So my only hope was Tsunade.

Zetsu was very happy with the new development. As he expected satori has done a very great job. Even if he was defeated, he has caused a great amount of damage to the Hachibi Jinjuriki from leaf.

He never liked a wild card. And the girl Tenten was definitely a wild card.

She was dangerous. And might cause a great amount of damage to his plans.

Obito might be a fool, but Zetsu refused to take any risks when he is so close to revive his mother.

As expected, sealing away satori has done some damage to her.

We can't say what exactly happened. But whatever happened has made her slower.

Now she can use Hachibi's chakra. As she used it for a brief moment to destroy one of the heart of Kakuzu. But it wasn't easy. Her body has weakened a lot.

He has observed the fight very carefully. As expected she has won. But her body was not on par with her previous body. May be damaged chakra coils ?

He didn't care. He has gained a lot of information on her from this fight.

So when she won, he decided to give it a try before leaving. As expected she dodged the attack. But the wooden spike got stabbed in her abdomen.

He didn't stick to the place. Instead he left with the unconscious Jinjuriki.

With the kidnapping of seven tails Jinjuriki of taki, Tsunade finally declared Akatsuki a national level threat. It was approved by the daimyo of the land of fire. And was distributed to all the allied Nations.

In the blink of an eye Naruto's training period ended. But I spent last two years in hospital bed. Life wasn't fair. And it was true for my life.

The last few days before Naruto's return, I spent training. Trying to come up with a new type of seal. I had a few ideas after all.

A few of them were successful.

Like anti gravity barrier and levitation seal.

New teams were formed after chunin promotion exam.

Yakumo Kurama, Hinata Hyuga and Shino Aburame became team Kurenai.

Team Asuma stayed the same.

Team Guy became complete with Sakura joining them. As a frontal assault team, Tsunade decided to dump a medic nin on them.

I remained solo. Tsunade wanted to dump a Genin team on me. But I failed them in the Genin test. Not that they showed any teamwork to begin with.

Two years passed away since Naruto departed for his training and the day of his return was finally there.
